CHARACTERIZATION OF SiC PARTICLES TO FORM COATED WITH MgAl2O4 BASED ON METAL ION CONCENTRATION VARIABLES

ABSTRAK

Penelitian tentang karakteristik bentuk partikel SiC yang dilapisi dengan MgAl2O4 berdasarkan variabel konsentrasi ion logam telah dilakukan. Dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ion logam pada permukaan SiC dan mengetahui bentuk permukaan SiC yang sudah terlapisi dengan spinel. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kopresipitasi dan menggunakan perbedaan konsentrasi Mg 0.6 gram 1.2 gram dan 3 gram. Karakterisasi dan identifikasi partikel SiC menggunakan XRD SEM dan EDX . Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa pertambahan konsentrasi meningkatkan kekasaran permukaan dan luas kontak permukaan tetapi tidak mempengaruhi kesimetrian dari partikel SiC sehingga wetabbility partikel SiC ketika dipergunakan pada komposit akan meningkat.


ABSTRACT

Research on the characteristics of the shape of the particles are coated with SiC MgAl2O4 by variable concentrations of metal ions has been carried out. In this study aims to determine the effect of metal ion concentration on the surface of SiC and SiC surface to know the shape that has been coated with spinel. In this study using the coprecipitation method using different concentrations of Mg and 0.6 grams 1.2 grams and 3 grams. Characterization and identification of SiC particles using XRD SEM and EDX. Based on research results that increase the concentration increases the surface roughness and surface contact area but did not affect the symmetry of the SiC particles so wetabbility SiC particles when used in the composite will increase.
