PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN MGCL2 DALAM SINTESIS KALSIUM KARBONAT PRESIPITAT BERBAHAN DASAR BATU KAPUR DENGAN METODE KARBONASI

ABSTRAK

Kalsium karbonat presipitat telah berhasil disintesis dengan metode karbonasi dengan bahan dasar batu kapur. Pada penelitian ini di gunakan metode karbonasi dengan variasi massa Mg yang ditambahkan pada larutan MgCl2 yaitu 12 dan 3 gram. Sintesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan larutan CaCl2 pada temperatur ruang dan kecepatan karbonasi sebesar 3 SCFH atau 1.41 ltrmnt. Hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan uji XRD X-Ray Diffraction mikroskop optik dan SEMScanning Electron Microscopy. Penambahan larutan MgCl2 berpengaruh pada fasa yang terbentuk morfologi dan ukuran kristal produk kalsium karbonat presipitat. Sintesis tanpa penambahan MgCl2 menghasilkan Fase tunggal yaitu kalsit dengan ukuran kristal 194 nm. Sintesis dengan penambahan MgCl2 akan menghasilkan fase kalsit kalsit magnesian dan magnesium karbonat. Banyak nya massa Mg yang ditambahkan akan dihasilkan fase yang semakin mengarah ke kalsit magnesian.


ABSTRACT

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate was synthesized by carbonation method with a limestone. In this study variation of mass Mg was added to the solution of MgCl2 ie 1.2 and 3 grams. Synthesis performed using CaCl2 solution to room temperature and carbonation speed of 3 SCFH 1.41 lmin-1. XRD X-ray Difraction optical microscopy and SEM Scanning Electron Microscopy were used for characterization. The addition of MgCl2 solution effect on the shape morphology and size of product crystals of calcium carbonate precipitates. Synthesis without the addition of MgCl2 produced a single phase with the size of crystals was 194 nm . Shyntesis with the addition of MgCl2 result in a phase of calcite magnesian calcite and magnesium carbonate .
