Rosmarinus officinalis merupakan tumbuhan herbal yang termasuk dalam famili Lamiaceae. Minyak atsiri dari bagian daun ini dihasilkan melalui metode destilasi. Rendemen yang diperoleh sebesar 0,63%. Analisis GC-MS untuk minyak atsiri Rosmarinus officinalis bagian daun menunjukkan adanya 25 senyawa penyusun. Komponen senyawa mayor penyusunnya antara lain α-pinene (22,85%), 1,8-cineole (19,50%) dan verbenone (13,51%). Minyak atsiri dari rosemary menunjukkan aktivitas larvasida secara aktif terhadap Aedes aegypti dengan nilai LC50 238,69 ppm.

Rosmarinus officinalis is a perennial herb that belongs to the Lamiaceae family. Essential oils were obtained from part of leaves by hydrodistillation. The total yield of the volatile fractions was 0,63%. GC-MS analysis of the essential oil resulted in the identification of 25 compounds. The major constituents of the oil were described as α-pinene (22,85%), 1,8-cineole (19,50%) and verbenone (13,51%). The larvacidal activities of peel essential oil from rosemary were evaluated against Aedes aegypti. Result of the test demonstrated the peel essential oils was effective as insecticide with LC50 values 238,69 ppm.
