Kontroler PID adalah kontroler yang paling populer abad ini karena kefektifannya luar biasa, implementasinya sederhana dan aplikasinya sangat luas. Namun, dalam prakteknya tuning kontroler PID merupakan suatu persoalan tersendiri yang tidak mudah dan umumnya masih dilakukan secara manual yang memerlukan cukup waktu. Tugas akhir ini membahas teknik tuning kontroler PID menggunakan metode PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa metode PSO yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan nilai parameter PID menghasilkan performa sistem yang baik terutama pada saat wmin=0,25, wmax = 0,75 jumlah populasi sebanyak 50 dan dilakukan sebanyak 50 iterasi didapatkan Kp = 11,2215, Ki = 2,0873 dan Kd = 5,4503 dan ketika dilakukan simulasi didaptkan rise time sebesar 9,625, setling time sebesar 10,25, persentase overshoot sebesar 0, dan error steady state sebesar 0 RPM.

PID controller is the controller of the most popular this Century because of extraordinary effectiveness, simple implementation and its application is very Broad. However in practice tuning PID controller is separate issue that is not easy and generally still done manually which requires a long time. This final project discusses PID controller tuning technique using PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). The simulation results show that the PSO method used to obtain the PID parameter values result in good performance especially when wmin =0.25, wmax = 0.75, number of Population = 50 and performed as many as 50 iterations obtained Kp = 11.2215, Ki = 2.0873 and kd = 5.4503 and be obtained when the rise time = 9.625 seconds, settling time =10.25 seconds, % Mp = 0 and Es s= 0 RPM
