PREPARATION OF ZnO THIN FILM BY ELECTRODEPOSITION METHOD FOR DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL DSSC APPLICATION

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari dan mengevaluasi pengaruh dari potensial yang diaplikasikan saat elektrodeposisi terhadap morfologi dan karakteristik lapisan ZnO yang terbentuk serta mempelajari pengaruh pewarnaan dengan antosianin dari ekstrak kulit terong terhadap sifat photovoltaic. Proses elektrodeposisi dilakukan dengan 3 elektroda yaitu elektroda kerja berupa Cu dan ITO Glass elektroda lawan berupa platina dan elektroda pembanding berupa AgAgCl. Media elektrolit yang digunakan berupa larutan campuran 5 mM ZnCl2 dan 01 M KCl dalam air demin dengan volume total 600 ml. Larutan diinjeksi dengan oksigen hingga mencapai DO 165 mgL selanjutnya dilakukan elektrodeposisi selama 30 menit. Elektrodeposisi dilakukan pada berbagai potensial yaitu -05V -075V -1V -125V dan -15V vs AgAgCl. Kemudian nilai konditivitas dari elektroda kerja diamati secara Chrono Amperometry dengan menggunakan Autolab 302N Metrohm. Selanjutnya dianalisa reaksi yang terjadi pada elektrolit dengan Cyclic Voltemmetry. Lalu untuk hasil lapisan ZnO yang telah terbentuk diamati dengan Scanning Electron Microscopy SEM. Besar hambatan listrik dengan metode uji resistivity 4 probe. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan potensial saat elektrodeposisi memberikan pengaruh terhadap proses pelapisan dan morfologi dari ZnO. Pada potensial rendah proses pelapisan akan berlangsung lambat menghasilkan ZnO yang porous dan merata. Semakin tinggi potesial yang diaplikasikan maka proses pelapisan akan semakin cepat dan ZnO yang terbentuk akan semakin tebal. Hasil lapisan yang memiliki nilai resistansi terkecil adalah ZnO pada potensial -15V vs AgAgCl.


ABSTRACT

The purposes of this research are to study and to evaluate the effect of applied potential of electrodeposition to morphology and characteristic of ZnO layer formed also effect of anthocyanin dye-coloring from extract of purple eggplant peels to photovoltaic characteristic. Electrodeposition carried out with 3 electrodes which working electrode was ITO Glass Counter electrode was platinum and reference electrode was AgAgCl. Electrolyte media containing 5 mM ZnCl2 and 01 M KCl in demineralized water with total volume 600 ml. Electrolyte injected with oxygen until dissolved oxygen value reach 165 mgL electrodeposition was conducted for 30 minutes. Electrodeposition carried out in several potentials -05V -075V -1V -125V and -15V vs AgAgCl. The conductivity of working electrode can be analyzed with chronoamperometry method with Autolab 302N Metrohm. The reaction of electrolyte can be analyzed with Cyclic Voltammetry. Morphology of ZnO layer formed was observed with Scanning Electron Microscopy SEM. The amount of electrical resistance ware analyzed with 4 probe resistivity method. The result shows that the applied potential of electrode have an effect on coating process and morphology of ZnO layer formed. On low potential coating process was slow which formed porous and homogeny ZnO layer. More higher potential applied the ZnO coating process become more faster and the layer become thicker. The layer which have lowest resistance value was ZnO formed on potential -15V vs AgAgCl.
