ABSTRAK

Tingkat kebisingan yang tinggi pada lingkungan kerja tanpa disadari berdampak buruk terhadap keselamatan dan kesehatan pekerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melindungi para pekerja di area turbin generator pada unit utilitas dari efek buruk paparan kebisingan yang dapat mengangggu kesehatan. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan memasang enclosure menggunakan pemilihan bahan yang tepat. Dari hasil pengukuran yang telah dilakukan tingkat kebisingan pada masing-masing lantai di unit ini yaitu pada lantai III dengan nilai TTB sebesar 976 dBA pada lantai II dengan nilai TTB sebesar 915 dBA sedangkan pada lantai I sebesar 916 dBA. Dalam pemilihan bahan yang tepat untuk memasang enclosure yaitu didasarkan pada hasil perhitungan nilai transmision loss dari bahan-bahan yang terdapat pada tabel-tabel literatur. Nilai kerapatan massa jenis W sangat berperan penting dalam penentuan bahan yang akan digunakan untuk mendesain enclosure. Hasil perhitungan pada masing-masing lantai dapat diketahui bahan yang digunakan yaitu polywood dalam hal ini hasil perhitungan menunjukkan nilai kerapatan massa jenis yang tertinggi yaitu sebesar 505 dan 898. Penambahan bahan material dengan bahan polywood setebal 126 cm pada lantai I dan II sedangkan lantai III setebal 225 cm sehingga dapat mereduksi bising dengan tingkat kebisingan sebesar 15 dB.


ABSTRACT

High noise level in the work environment unwittingly adversely affect the safety and health of workers. This study was done to protect the workers in the area at the turbine generator units of utility from the adverse effects of noise exposure that can be harmful to health. One of the efforts made to overcome these problems is to install an enclosure using proper material selection. From the results of measurements that have been carried out the noise level on each floor in this unit is on the third floor with TTB value of 97.6 dBA on the second floor with TTB value of 91.5 dBA while the first floor was 91.6 dBA. In the selection of appropriate materials to install the enclosure is based on the calculation of the transmission loss of the materials contained in the tables literature. Mass density value type W are important in determining which materials will be used to design the enclosure. The results of calculations on each floor can be known materials used are polywood in this case the value of the density calculation results show that the highest density is equal to 5.05 and 8.98. The addition of materials with 1.26 cm thick polywood material on first and second floors while the third floor of 2.25 cm thick so it can reduce noise with noise level of 15 dB.
