Agent Technology Using Artificial Neural Network for Automatic PC Shutdown

Pada lingkungan yang terdapat banyak PC persoalan sederhana seperti melakukan shutdown bisa menjadi pekerjaan yang penting sekaligus merepotkan. Penting karena pemakaian PC terkait dengan pemakaian sumber daya organisasi atau perusahaan terutama bila misalnya efisiensi sumber daya listrik adalah keharusan yang tidak terhindarkan. Shutdown juga menjadi sangat merepotkan pengelola jika dilakukan secara manual dan berulang kali pada sejumlah PC yang tidak sedikit. Untuk itu dibutuhkan suatu aplikasi yang dapat mengambil alih tugas shutdown ini. Tugas akhir ini mencoba menghadirkan solusi untuk persoalan shutdown seperti di atas dengan memanfaatkan teknologi agent dan neural network. Penggunaan agent dimaksudkan untuk menghasilkan aplikasi yang dapat mengambil alih tugas dan bekerja secara mandiri. Sedangkan neural network digunakan agar agent dapat memngambil keputusan shutdown yang layak yang sesuai dengan pola serta kebiasaan pemakaian PC. Uji coba yang dilakukan menunjukkan aplikasi agent dengan neural network ini telah dapat bekerja dengan baik. Pada jam-jam sibuk seperti pada jam 10 pagi agent menunda shutdown hingga 60 menit untuk mengantisipasi kemungkinan besar terdapat user log on. Sedangkan pada tengah malam yang frekuensi log on biasanya rendah agent mempercepat shutdown. Keputusan agent untuk menunda atau mempercepat shutdown juga mempertimbangkan hari dimana keputusan dibuat.


At a work place which there are a lot of PCs simple task as shutdown could be very urgent and annoying at once. Urgent because its related to organizational or company resources usage particularly if electricity usage eficiency is inevitable. Shutdown could be troublesome as well when its done manually and frequently to a big number of PCs. For that reason it is required an application which can take over the task. This final project tries to provide a solution for such shutdown problem by exploiting agent technology and neural network. Usage of agent meants to yield an application which can take over such shutdown task and works autonomously. While neural network is applied in order that agent can make a shutdown decision which is reasonable matching to pattern and PC usage habit. Testing done shows this neural network agent application has been able to work properly. At the rushhour as 1000 AM agent delays shutdown until 60 minutes to anticipate very possibly there is a user loging on. While at midnight which log on frequency is commonly low agent quickens shutdown. Agent decision to delay or quicken shutdown also considers day to which decision is made.
