PERANCANGAN DAN IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM E-LEARING SEBAGAI MEDIA PENYAMPAIAN MATERI PERKULIHAN

ABSTRAK

Sistem pendidikan konvensional yang sudah kita kenal selama ini mempunyai kelemahan dan kekurangan yang cukup besar. Proses belajar mengajar misalnya mempunyai keterbatasan-keterbatasan dalam bidang pemenuhan fasilitas fisik dan pengaturan waktu. Penyediaan fasilitas fisik yang memadai memerlukan dana yang tidak sedikit. Pengaturan waktu yang dilakukan oleh pihak pengajar dan pihak siswa yang belajar sering mendapat kendala yang berarti dimana pengajar dan siswa harns bertemu dalam suatu tempat dan waktu yang sarna untuk melaksanakan kegiatan belajar mengajar. Selain daripada itu adanya peningkatan permintaan dari dunia industri akan perbaikan kualitas sumber daya manusia keluaran sebuah institusi pendidikan yang menuntut suatu institusi pendidikan terns berkembang mengikuti perkembangan teknologi informasi dan mengaplikasikannya pada setiap aktivitasnya. Perkembangan teknologi informasi memungkinkan pengajar menyampaikan materi perkuliahan kepada siswanya melalui internet. Tetapi untuk menerapkan penyampaian materi melalui internet memerlukan keahlian diluar kepakaran pengajar. Pada Tugas Akhir ini dibahas tentang perancangan sistem eLeaming pada Jurusan Teknik Industri ITS dengan memanfaatkan jaringan on-line internet untuk meningkatkan penerimaan mahasiswanya akan materi perkuliahan yang diberikan dosen sebagai staf pengajar. Pada tahap analisa sistem diteliti kelemahan dan kekurangan sistem yang ada saat ini. Pada tahap desain sistem akan mulai dibangun sistem informasi yang dapat membantu mengatasi masalah-masalah yang ada. Pada tahap implementasi sistem yang barn akan diterapkan.


ABSTRACT

The Educational system that known to day contain excessively weaknesses. Teaching and learning process for instance had its limitation in fulfilling physical facility and managing time. Adequate physical facility consume a sufficient number of funding. While time arranging conducting by tutors and students often meet certain constraints where tutors and students had to meet in a same room and time. The increase in industrial demand of human resource quality had to be followed by continuously developing educational institution towards information technology. Information technology today enable a tutor to deliver college materials to be read by their students through internet. But to deliver college material through internet need certain expertise that not all tutots had. In this fmal assignment state the design of elearning system in Industrial Engineering of Institute Technology of Sepuluh N opember that uses on-line internet network to increase student acceptance level towards college study that given by university-level tutors. In the system analyze fase we search the system for weaknesses. The design fase will be the beginning of building information system to overcome problems that found before. And in the implementation fase the new system will be place .
