Description:

Pada proses bubut, terutama pembubutan dengan mesin konvensional, ada beberapa cara untuk mencapai produktivitas yang tinggi, antara lain meningkatkan kecepatan potong, meningkatkan gerak makan (feeding) atau memperbesar tebal geram (menaikan kedalaman pemakanan). Tapi, untuk mencapai produktivitas yang tinggi, ada suatu hal yang perlu diperhatikan yaitu tebal geram tidak dapat diperbesar secara leluasa, karena apabila tebal geram mencapai batas kestabilannya (bum), pemotongan tersebut akan bergetar pada daerah frekuensi pribadinya (chatter), sehingga menurunkan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan, antara lain kekasaran permukaan. Batas kestabilan ini berbeda untuk masing-masing kasus (jenis mesin, sistem pencekaman, atau kondisi pemotongan). Dalam tugas akhir ini, dikaji pengaruh kecepatan potong Vc terhadap terjadinya chatter, yaitu berupa batas kestabilan (blim) dan kekasaran permukaan yang dihasilkan pada pembubutan bendakerja dengan pencekaman tanpa penumpu tailstock. Variasi kecepatan potong didapat dari variasi putaran spindel utama yang digunakan dan diameter akhir bendakerja pada saat chatter. Dari eksperimen pemotongan didapatkan kondisi kritis pemotongan (berupa bum) untuk masingmasing kecepatan potong, ditandai dengan peningkatan amplitudo getaran yang drastis dan suara bising yang berlebihan (mendengung). Saat pemotongan dengan n = 155 rpm, pada kondisi stabil, peningkatan lebar geram dari 1.04 4.14 mm tidak terlalu mempengaruhi amplitudo getaran yang terjadi, pada saat lebar geram memasuki 4.35 mm, ammplitudo getaran meningkat drastis hampir 4 kali lipat pada frekuensi 125 Hz. Untuk variasi kecepatan potong dari 17.43 52.53 mlmin, terjadi penurunan bu« dari 4.35 - 2.07 mm. Dari penelitian ini, didapatkan hubungan antara kecepatan potong Vc dengan batas kestabilan (bum) dan hubungan antara kecepatan potong Vc dengan kekasaran permukaan saat terjadi chatter dan amplitudo getaran A yang dinyatakan dengan persamaan : b - 0.6903 lim = 30.043· Vc (mm) Ra = 15.14. At turning process, especially with conventional turning machine, there are some way to reach the high productivity, for example by improving cutting speed Vc, improving feeding f or enlarge chips width b (by enlarge cutting deepness a). But, to reach the high productivity, there is a matter which require to be paid attention, that the chips width cannot be enlarged freely, because if its reach the its stability boundary (bli"J, cutting process will vibrate at its natural frequency area (chatter), so that degrade the product quality, for example surface roughness. This Stability boundary differ to each case (machine type, clamping system, or cutting condition). In this final project, it's studied the influence ofcutting speed (Vc) to the occurred ofchatter, that is in the form ofstability boundary (bli"J and the surface roughness that be yielded at overhang turning process. Variation ofcutting speed be got from variation of lead spindel rotation that be used and final diameter of workpiece when chatter occurs. From the cutting test, it's got a critical condition ofcutting process (in the form ofbli"J to each cutting speed, it's marked with the make-up of drastic vibration amplitude and abundant clunk (whizzing). At the moment when cutting uses n = 155 rpm, at stable condition, the improvement of chips width from 1.04 - 4.14 mm do not too influencing to vibration amplitude that be happened, at the time ofchips width to enter 4.35 mm, ammplitudo vibration mount drastic almost 4 times fold at frequency 125 Hz. For the variation of cutting speedfrom 17.43 - 52.53 m/min, the degradation bu« occur from 4.35 - 2.07 mm.
