ABSTRAK

Terumbu karang dan obyek bawah permukaan perairan dangkal dapat dikenali dengan menerapkan teknologi penginderaan jauh. Proses analisa didasarkan pada karakteristik respon vegetasi yang direkam oleh sensor satelit apabila berinteraksi dengan radiasi elekhomagnetik. Respon tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai petunjuk jenis obyek karena setiap obyek memiliki respon yang spesifik tehadap radiasi elektomagnetik. Penelitian ini menggunakan citra Landsat multitemporal untuk identifikasi perubahan luas tutupan terumbu karang di Kepulauan Karimunjawa. Pengolahan dimulai dengan pemotongan cita dan koreksi geometik. Klasifikasi tak terselia dilakukan setelah transfornrasi citra dengan algorithma Lyzengu Citra hasil klasifikasi diuji dengan menggunakan data hasil pengamatan lapangan dan diklasifikasi kembali dengan acuan citra komposit band 421 dan 542. Hasil klasifikasi menunjukkan bahwa di Kepulauan Karimunjawa pada tahun 1991 terdapat karang hidup dengan luas 13844 km2 karang mati 11 456 km2 lamun 10292 km2 dan pasir memiliki luas 31887 km2. Sedangkan pada tahun 2002 terdapat karang hidup seluas 7835 km2karang mati 18012 km2lamun 13094 km2 dan pasir memiliki luas 28925 km2.


ABSTRACT

Coral reef and under shallow water object can be detected using remote sensing technology. The analysis process is based on characteristic of vegetation response that be recorded by satellite sensors when interact with electromagnetic radiation. This response can be used to identify object because each object has specific response to electromagnetic radiation. This study used multitemporal Landsat image to identify change of coral reef habitats in Karimunjawa archipelago. Processing was started by image croping and geometric correction. Unsupervised classification was done after image transformation with Lyzenga algorithm. Image of classification results tested using Manta Tow data and reclassed by 421 and 542 composite image as reference. The results shows that there are 13844 km2 live coral 11456 km2 dead coral 10292 km2 seagrasss and 31887 km2 sand on Karimunjawa archipelago in 1991. In 2002 there are 7835 km2 live coral 18012 km2 dead coral13094 km2 seagrasss and 28925 km2 sand.
