STUDY KEKUATAN MATERIAL CHASSIS TOYOTA KIJANG DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ANSYS 8.0 VISUAL NASTRAN

ABSTRAK

Chassis memegang peranan penting dalam sebuah kendaraan sebab chassis merupakan tempat diletakkannya sebagian besar komponen kendaraan sehingga harus mampu menerima segala jenis pembebanan yang terjadi pada chassis baik beban statis maupun beban dinamis. Salah satu analisa yang sangat penting pada chassis adalah analisa pembebanan yang bertujuan untuk menentukan kekuatan dari chassis sehingga dengan studi tentang chassis dapat diperoleh suatu informasi mengenai besar pembebanan yang diterima chassis daerah - daerah kritis pada chassis serta terhadap umur material chassis itu sendiri. Perhitungan beban dinamis dianalisa melalui profil permukaan jalan yang tidak rata. Kekasaran permukaan jalan diasumsikan mempunyai bentuk sinusoidal. Kondisi operasi yang dianalisa adalah saat kendaraan berjalan lurus. Untuk menganalisa chassis terlebih dahulu dibuat suatu model matematis dari struktur chassis. Perangkat lunak ANSYS 8.0 dan VISUAL NASTRAN dipakai pada analisa pembebanan struktur chassis untuk memperoleh distribusi tegangan pada struktur chassis. Daerah kritis pada chassis akan dianalisa dengan teori kegagalan untuk menentukan keamanan chassis. Dengan demikian dapat diperoleh siklus beban dinamik yang menjadi landasan untuk menentukan umur material chassis. Dari penelitian diperoleh hasil bahwa chassis dalam keadaan aman dengan tegangan yang terjadi pada chassis lebih kecil daripada tegangan ijin material. Diperoleh juga daerah daerah kritis pada chassis serta estimasi umur material.


ABSTRACT

Chassis is an importance part in a car because chassis is represented placing of most car components so that have to able to accept all type of encumbering that happened at chassis static loading and dynamic loading. One of very important analysis at chassis is loading analysis what aim to determine strength from chassis so that with study of chassis will obtain an information of maximal loading to accepted by chassis critical areas and also the age of material of chassis. Calculation of dynamic loading analysed by through profile of surface of road scraggly. Surface crudity is assumed have sinusoidal wave. Condition of operation which is analysed straight. To analyse chassis we made mathematical model from structure chassis. Software of ANSYS 8.0 and VISUAL NASTRAN is used to loading analysis of structure chassis to obtain distribution of stress in structure chassis. Critical area at chassis will be analysed with theory of failure to determine chassiss safety. Then we obtain cycle of dynamic loading to determine age of material chassis. The result of this research is chassis in safety condition which maximum stress that happened is under the yield and ultimate strength of material. The result is contain crtitical areas of chassis and we can estimate age of material.
