OPTIMIZING MEASUREMENT RESULT BY NAVIGATION TYPE GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM GPS

ABSTRACT

GPS is navigation radio system and position determination using satellite which owned and belong to United States of America. One of GPS application is in mapping and surveying especially for coordinates determination of points at the surface. Position determination using GPS is one inovation because it can give coordinates of horizontal latitude longitude and vertical height of ellipsoid control stations in one measurement. Type of GPS receiver divided into three GPS Geodetic for high accuration GPS Map for middle accuration and GPS Navigation for poor accuration. Research that done was optimazation of measurement result using GPS navigation which has blunder error in position to make better or even closely to the GPS Geodetic accuration. In this research using differential static method with the long time of observation 60 minutes where location is ITS college Surabaya. Data that used was data which taken from two different tools Leica Geodetic GPS and Navigation GPS Garmin 12 XL. The result so that measuring short baseline using Navigation GPS with differential static produce points which has linear displacement about 0.3 metres against points which measured by Geodetic GPS.
