PENGARUH VARIASI NILAI SOLID RETENTION TIME DAN KARAKTERISTIK LUMPUR PADA DIGESTER AEROBIK DALAM MENGOLAH LUMPUR TINJA

THE INFLUENCE OF SOLID RETENTION TIME AND SLUDGE CHARACTERISTICS VARIATION AT AEROBIC DIGESTER IN SEPTAGE TREATMENT

ABSTRAK

Pembuangan lumpur tinja secara langsung ke lingkungan dapat menimbulkan permasalahan diantaranya timbulnya organisme penyebab penyakit bau dan menurunnya kualitas air tanah akibat terkontaminasi oleh lumpur tinja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar penyisihan kandungan VSS serta rasio CN yang bisa dicapai dari digester aerobik aliran kontinyu dalam pengolahan lumpur tinja dengan memvariasikan nilai Solid Retention Time SRT dan karakteristik lumpur yang diolah. Lumpur tinja yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari IPLT Keputih-Surabaya. Variasi terhadap nilai SRT dalam penelitian ini adalah 10 20 30 40 dan 50 hari sedangkan karakteristik lumpur divariasikan pada asal lumpur tinja yakni lumpur dari tangki truk dan lumpur setelah unit pengolahan biologis. Parameter yang diuji dalam penelitian ini adalah TSS VSS rasio CN pH Suhu kadar air yang diukur pada awal dan akhir penelitian dan DO yang diukur 2 harian sebagai parameter kontrol. Suplai udara yang digunakan dalam digester aerobik ini adalah konstan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh dari karakteristik lumpur yang diolah dengan nilai SRT optimum yang berbeda. SRT optimum lumpur yang berasal dari tangki truk adalah 50 hari dengan penyisihan VSS 3210 dan rasio CN yang dicapai 10431. Sedangkan SRT optimum lumpur setelah unit pengolahan biologis adalah 10 hari dengan penyisihan VSS 3359 dan rasio CN yang dicapai 16491.


ABSTRACT

Septage disposal directly into environment can generate several problems among other things incidence of pathogenic organism odor and quality drop of ground water as the effect of septage contamination. The aim of this research is to know how big obstetrical removal of VSS and CN ratio which can be reached by continous flow aerobic digester with Solid Retention Time SRT value and sludge characteristics variation. The septage used in this research come from IPLT Keputih- Surabaya. The SRT variation value in this research are 10 20 30 40 and 50 days while sludge characteristic variation is on the origin of sludge septage truck and after biological treatment process. Examinee parameter in this research is TSS VSS CN ratio pH Temperature humidity which is measured in the early and final of research and DO measured by 2 daily as a parameter control. Air supply used in the aerobic digesters is constant. The result of this research shows the existence of influence from sludge characteristics with different SRT optimum value. Optimum SRT of septage truck is 50 day with the removal of VSS 3210 and reached CN ratio is 10431. While the sludge from biological treatment process have an optimum SRT in 10 day with removal 3359 in VSS and reached CN ratio is 16491.
