PENGARUH SKEMA MULTIPLEX-MULTICAST TERHADAP JUMLAH SESI VOIP DALAM WLAN

EFFECT MULTIPLEX-MULTICAST SCHEME TO NUMBER OF VOIP SESSION OVER WLAN

ABSTRAK

Dengan semakin berkembangnya tehnologi wireless dimana memiliki sifat yang fleksibel murah dan dapat diaplikasikan dalam berbagai keadaan geografis. Memungkinkan Wireless LAN sebagai salah satu aplikasi dalam Wireless Distribution System WDS untuk dapat mengirimkan tidak hanya paket data tetapi juga paket suara atau video. Pada pendistribusian paket suara ordinary VoIP akan mengalami banyak kendala terhadap performansinya dalam jaringan Wireless LAN. Kendala ini seperti delay yang besar kapasitas dan cakupan yang terbatas karena adanya banyak overhead pada paket yang dikirim. Tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah Skema Multiplex-Multicast dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi hal diatas dengan menggunakan skema ini dengan pengaturan delay paket didapat peningkatan terhadap sessi VoIP yang didistribusikan melalui jaringan Wireless LAN. Dengan menggunakan standar H.323 untuk multiplexing skema Multiplex-Multicast mampu memultiplex paket-paket suara menjadi paket tunggal dengan header terkompresi dimana dapat dilewatkan melalui jaringan packet switched atau PSTN dengan tehnik multicasting skema Multiplex-Multicast mampu mengirimkan paket yang telah dimultiplex melalui jaringan wireless dengan hanya satu kali transmisi dan dengan tehnik kompresi header header dari setiap paket dapat dikompresi menjadi kecil sehingga memperkecil adanya overhead yang terjadi. Hasil dari tugas akhir didapatkan bahwa dengan ordinary VoIP dan skema Multiplex-Multicast penggunaan bandwidth untuk pengiriman paket suara adalah optimal terhadap maksimum bandwidth yang disupport oleh WLAN sebesar 11 Mbps didapatkan juga bahwa jumlah sesi yang dapat disupport oleh skema Multiplex-Multicast adalah dua kalinya jumlah sesi yang dapat disupport oleh ordinary VoIP.


ABSTRACT

With the emergence of wireless technology that have flexibility low prices and can be applied under various geography makes wireless LAN that became one of the wireless distribution system WDS to send not only data packet but also voice or video packet. In distribution of voice packet ordinary VoIP have to deal with various problem under wireless LAN network. that is huge of delay packet limited range and capacity due to various overhead packet. The destination of this final project is that with a scheme huge of delay packet and various overhead packet can be handle. it use multiplex-multicast scheme. with this scheme with the given of fixed delay requirement it can increase the number of VoIP session that distributed over wireless LAN network. With the H.323 standard for multiplexing multiplex-multicast scheme can multiplexed various packet voice to became one single packet multiplexed with compressed header which can be transmitted over packet switched network or PSTN. With the multicasting multiplex-multicast scheme can send multiplexed packet over wireless network with only one transmission and with the header compression header from various packet can be compressed to became small so overhead multiplexed packet became small too. the final eksperiment of this final project is that with the ordinary VoIP and multiplex-multicast scheme the used of bandwidth for sending the voice packet is maximum compare with maximum bandwidth that can be support wireless LAN around 11 Mbps. it can also see that the number of session that can be support by multiplex-multicast scheme is twice compare with the session that can be support by ordinary VoIP
