Description:
Pada industri kecil, metode pembuatan helm yang umum
digunakan adalah hand-made atau menggunakan ketrampilan tangan.
Material yang digunakan adalah fiberglass. Pada penelitian ini,
dikembangkan suatu metode perancangan cetakan injection molding
dengan produk helm standar (half face) menggunakan material HIPS.
Hasil yang diperoleh dari perancangan injection molding ini kemudian
disimulasikan dengan bantuan software C-Mold. Hasil yang diperoleh
adalah spesifikasi komponen cetakan yang digunakan dan setting
parameter yang mampu menghasilkan helm dengan kualitas baik.

Generally, helmet making techniques in small industries are
hand-made using fiberglass material. This project concern about
designing an injection molding's mold using manual calculation and Cmold
simulation software. This project use a half faced helmet as the
product and high impact polystyrene (HIPS) plastic material. The goal
of this project is to get the detail specification of mold component and
the setting parameter which can produce a good quality helmet.
