ABSTRAK

Pada saat ini dunia industri telah berkembang dengan pesat dan persainganpun semakin ketat. Akibatnya perusahaan berlomba-lomba untuk memperbaiki dan mengembangkan sistem usahanya agar lebih efisien dan efektif. Tata letak fasilitas pabrik memiliki dampak yang cukup significant terhadap performansi perusahaan seperti biaya material handling work-in process inventory lead times produktivitas dan performansi pengantaran. Desain fasilitas pabrik yang bagus adalah yang mampu meningkatkan keefektifan dan keefisienan melalui penurunan perpindahan jarak material dan biaya material handling. Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan penelitian perancangan ulang tata letak fasiltas mesin pada perusahaan textile yang memproduksi benang. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada perancangan dilakukan dengan mengunakan cellular manufacturing systems yaitu mengelompokkan produk yang memiliki kesamaan desain atau kesamaan karakteristik manufaktur atau gabungan dari keduanya. Hasil pengelompokan ini berupa formasi mesin yang membentuk cell-cell. Sedang metode penyusunan mesin didalam cell menggunakan metode Genetic Algorithm. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa layout usulan yang dirancang lebih baik dari existing layout. Layout usulan memiliki jarak rectilinear perpindahan material yang lebih kecil selisihnya 39.696 m atau penurunan jaraknya sebesar 51 dari kondisi existing. Begitu juga dengan nilai fungsi evaluasi layout mengalami penurunan nilai sebesar 230.476 atau 37 dari layout kondisi existing.


ABSTRACT

At the moment the industrial world have expanded at full speed and competition tighten progressively. As a result the companies raced to improve and develop their systems in order to effectiveness and more efficient. Facility layout has enough significant impact to company performances such as costs work-in process inventory lead times productivity and delivery performance. Good design of facility layout will capable to improve effectiveness and efficient through decreasing distance of transport material and expense of material handling. In this paper was done a research of facility layout in textile company producing yarn. Based of existing problems facility layout planing was done by cellular manufacturing systems method that is grouping or clustering of product having equality of design or equality of manufaktur characteristic or merger from both. The result of this clustering is machine formation forming cells. And than the method of Machines arrangement in cell use Genetic Algorithm. From the results of reserch were obtained that new layout better than existing layout. New Layout has rectilinear distance smaller than existing layout. The rectilinear distance reduced 39.696 m or 51 to existing layout and also with function value of evaluation the function value of evaluation reduced 230.476 or 37 to existing layout.
