ABSTRAK

Pada pengelasan baja stainless steel tipe 304 sering ditemukan terjadinya presipitasi karbida khrom. Presipitasi karbida khrom ini disebabkan karena proses pendinginan yang relatif lambat . Untuk pengelasan TIG pada baja tahan karat tipe 304 perlu dilakukan proses percepatan pendinginan dimana dengan proses ini diharapkan karbon C dan khrom Cr tidak sempat membentuk presipitat karbida CrC. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh dari variasi jarak penyemprotan terhadap titik api terhadap terjadinya presipitasi karbida khrom. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengelasan TIG terhadap baja tahan karat tipe 304 dengan memberikan pendinginan paksa berupa penyemprotan fluida pendingin. Penelitian ini mempunyai beberapa variasi proses yaitu variasi arus kecepatan pengelasan serta variasi jarak penyemprotan fluida pendingin terhadap titik api. Analisa terhadap hasil akhir eksperimen dilakukan dengan mengamati material secara mikro dan makro serta melakukan foto struktur mikro yang hasilnya dibandingkan antara satu dengan yang lainnya. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penilitian ini diperoleh dengan semakin tinggi arus yang diberikan maka prosentasi karbida khrom terjadi penurunan dan semakin jauh jarak penyemprotan maka prosentasi karbida semakin bertambah. Untuk lebar HAZ yang terbentuk diperoleh fenomena semakin dekat jarak penyemprotan maka lebar HAZ semakin berkurang dan semakin jauh jarak penyemprotan maka lebar HAZ yang terbentuk semakin bertambah.


ABSTRACT

Welding on stainless steel of type 304 is often found presipitation of chromium carbide. This presipitation of chromium carbide is caused by process of refrigeration which tardy relative. For TIG Welding on Stainless steel of type 304 require to be conducted by process of refrigeration acceleration where with this process is expected carbon C and chromium Cr no time to forming carbide presipitation Crc. Intention of this research is know how far influence from variation spraying distance to dot of fire to the happening of presipitation of chromium carbide.. In this research is conducted TIG welding on stainless steel of type 304 givenly refrigeration force in the form of cooler fluid spraying. This research have some variation processing that is variation of current welding speed and also the variation of apart cooler fluid spraying to fire dot. Analyse to end result of experiment conducted perceivedly is material micro and macro and also take a photo of microstrukture what the result compared between one with other. The result in this research is obtained with current excelsior given hence presipitation chromium carbide happened by the degradation and progressively far apart spraying hence percent of chromium carbide progressively increase. For wide of HAZ formed to be obtained a phenomenon closer apart wide spraying hence HAZ on the wane and progressively far apart spraying wide hence HAZ formed progressively increase.
