PENGOLAHAN LINDI DARI PROSES KOMPOSTING MENGGUNAKAN TANAMAN CANNA EDULIS DAN CYPERUS PAPYRUS DALAM SISTEM CONSTRUCTED WETLAND ALIRAN HORIZONTAL

LEACHATE TREATMENT OF COMPOSTING PROCESS USING Canna edulis AND Cyperus papyrus PLANTS IN HORIZONTAL FLOW OF CONSTRUCTED WETLAND SYSTEM

ABSTRAK

Sampai saat ini air lindi yang berasal dari aktivitas komposting belum mengalami pengolahan sehingga dapat menyebabkan pencemaran air tanah dan permukaan. Untuk itu diperlukan pengolahan lindi dengan teknologi yang sederhana dan tepat guna baik dari segi biaya pengoperasian maupun pemeliharaan. Alternatif solusi yang dapat digunakan adalah sistem Constructed Wetland yaitu sistem pengolahan lindi menggunakan tumbuhan air dengan bantuan sinar matahari memanfaatkan adanya simbiosis mikroorganisme dalam tanah dengan akar tanaman. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan efisiensi reaktor Sub Surface Flow Constructed Wetland untuk menyisihkan kandungan N total TS dan PV. Lindi diambil dari TPS Bibis Karah. Media yang digunakan adalah pasir. Sistem aliran yang digunakan adalah horizontal dengan variasi jenis tanaman yaitu Canna edulis dan Cyperus papyrus dan variasi lindi dengan konsentrasi senyawa N sebesar 100 mgl dan 150 mgl. Parameter yang diukur adalah N total TS dan PV serta pertambahan tinggi tanaman. Debit influen sebesar 9 Lhari tiap reaktor dengan waktu detensi 3 hari kemudian dilakukan pengukuran parameter. Tiap perlakuan diamati selama 2 minggu. Reaktor yang digunakan adalah dua reaktor uji dengan tanaman Canna edulis dan Cyperus papyrus dan satu reaktor kontrol tanpa tanaman untuk tiap jenis variasi. Reaktor yang digunakan terbuat dari kaca berukuran 90x30x50 cm dengan kedalaman media 40 cm dan kedalaman aliran 30 cm. Dari hasil penelitian pada reaktor Sub Surface Constucted Wetland aliran horizontal dengan tanaman Cyperus papyrus dengan beban konsentrasi N sebesar 100 mgl didapatkan efisiensi penyisihan kandungan N total paling tinggi sebesar 9052 per sen. Sedangkan untuk efisiensi TS sebesar 6277 per sen dan PV sebesar 9609 per sen. Untuk pertambahan tinggi tanaman maksimal didapatkan pada tanaman Cyperus papyrus B dengan pertambahan tinggi sebesar 3 cmsampling.


ABSTRACT

Until now leachate water that come from composting activities has not been processed yet so that it cause the water soil and surface pollution. Therefore it necessary leachate processing with simple technology and appropriate use both for cost processing and maintenance aspects. Solution alternative is the constructed wetland system that is leachate processing system that using water plant with sunshine aid exploiting the existence of microorganism symbiosis in the soil with plant root. The purpose of this research is to determine the reactor efficiency of Sub Surface Flow Constructed Wetland to eliminate N total TS and PV content. Bibis Karah is the sample taken place of lindi. Using the sand as a media. Flow system is using the horizontal with variation kind of plants they are Canna edulis and Cyperus papyrus. And the leachate variation with compound concentration N with the amount of 100 mgl and 150 mgl. Parameter measured is N total TS and PV also increasing the height of plant. Influence debit amount 9 Lday every reactor with detention time 3 day next it is performed the measuring parameter. Every manner was observed for 2 weeks. Using two test reactors with Canna edulis and Cyperus papyrus plant and one control reactor without plant for every kind of variation. Reactor was made by glass with dimension 90x30x50 cm with media depth is 40 cm and flow depth is 30 cm. The research result at the reactor of Sub Surface Constructed Wetland horizontal flow with Cyperus papyrus plant with the highest N total concentration load is 90.52 per cent. Whereas TS efficiency and PV are amount 62.77 per cent and 96.09 per cent respectively. For maximum adding of plant height was obtained at Cyperus papyrus B plant with increasingly 3 cmsampling.
