Pasar Keputran yang merupakan pasar induk sayur di Surabaya setiap harinya menghasilkan sampah sebanyak 68.57 m3 dengan jumlah bahan organiknya sebesar 93.40 % potensial untuk diolah menjadi kompos Unit bangunan yang dibutuhkan untuk bangunan komposter Pasar Keputran Surabaya terdiri dari penampungan awal dan pemilahan, kran air dan lavatory, penampungan lindi, pencacah bahan organik, lahan pengomposan primer dan sekunder, lahan pengayakan dan gudang penyimpanan kompos idealnya membutuhkan luas lahan sebesar 1255.5 m2. Oleh karena luas lahan yang tersedia hanya sebesar 2 maka bangunan komposter hanya mampu mengolah 41% dari 750 m jumlah keseluruhan sampah dihasilkan. Modal awal yang dibutuhkan sebesar Rp 1.001.282.000, periode pengembalian adalah tahun kedua bulan keempat, nilai NPV yang positif membuktikan bahwa proyek ini layak untuk dibangun dan nilai IRR sebesar 22% lebih tinggi dari bunga bank yang sebesar 15% setahun Keuntungan yang didapatkan dari pembangunan bangunan komposter ini selain adanya aliran kas yang positif, juga dapat mereduksi jumlah sampah yang diangkut ke TPA, mengurangi biaya transportasi dan dapat menghemat pemakaian lahan TPA. Pencatatan yang detail dan teliti dalam pengelolaan sampah ini dapat bermanfaat sebagai proyek percontohan bagi kota-kota lain di Indonesia karena di sebagian besar kota selalu terdapat pasar induk sayuran.

Keputran Market, is the main vegetable market in Surabaya, produce 68.57 m 3 of waste everyday which 93.40 % of it is organic waste potential to composted. Component needed to build composter building consist of garbage landfill and organic separate area, faucet and lavatory unit, leachate collection, organic waste cutting, primary and secondary composting area, compos separation and packaging, compos storage unit, ideally 2 2 need 1255.5 m . Because available area only 750 m , the composter unit only process 41% from the total waste produced. Total capital investemnt of Rp 1.001.282.000, and two year four month capital return period, the positive value of NPV and also IRR value 22% greater than bank interest 15% a year proove that this wate management building profitable to build. The beneffit from build this composter unit beside of the positive cash flow, it can reduce the amount of waste sent to Final Landfill, reduce transportation cost and also reduce the need of Final landfill area. The detail administration of this composting building can be use as the example by other city in Indonesia because most of the city have a main vegetable market
