ABSTRAK

Kemampuan untuk mengontrol suatu bidang aliran menjadikan arti pentingnya teknologi yang tak terbatas. Pengontrolan aliran di sekeliling bluff bodi merupakan bagian penting dari wind engineering. Tsutsui et.al 2002 telah melakukan penelitian tentang pengontrolan aliran dan mengemukakan 2 metode baru. Pertama pengontrolan pada shear layer yang terseparasi dari bluff bodi. Metode lainnya adalah pengontrolan aliran di sekeliling permukaan bluff bodi dengan menempatkan silinder kecil di bagian depan dari bluff bodi. Dimana akan didapatkan penurunan koefisien drag pada silinder sirkular seiring dengan peningkatan intesitas turbulensi. Oleh karena itu sangat menarik untuk melakukan percobaan pada silinder sirkular terutama pada susunan silinder. Perilaku aliran di sekeliling silinder susunan banyak multiple sangatlah berbeda pada perilaku aliran di sekeliling silinder tunggal. Pada percobaan ini digunakan 2 macam bluff bodi dimana silinder tipe-D silinder sirkular yang diiris sejajar sumbu y pada bagian depannya sebagai pengontrol pasif pengganggu berfungsi untuk mengurangi gaya-gaya aerodinamik pada silinder sirkular. Susunan bluff bodi percobaan ini adalah susunan tandem tanpa adanya sudut stagger.


ABSTRACT

The ability to manipulate a flow field is of immense technological importance. Flow control around bluff bodies is importance and of interest for wind engineering. The authors have investigated the flow control and proposed two new flow control method.One is the control of shear layer separated from the bluff body. The order is the control of the surface flow around bluff bodies by setting a small rod upstream of the bluff body.It is well known that the drag coefficient of a circular cylinder in a uniform flow decreases with an increase turbulence in the flow Tsutsui et al 2002. Therefore it is still important to continue the study with circular cylinder as an object especially on a group configuration. The flow behavior around multiple circular cylinder in a group configuration is certainly different with the flow behavior around a cylinder one. This study is to present two bluff bodies cut from a circular cylinder D-type which was produced by cutting only front side of the circular cylinder in parallel with the y axis as a passive control to reduce the aerodynamics forces on a circular cylinder. These are placed in tandem arrangement without stagger angle.
