PENGENDALIAN SUHU CRUDE OIL KELUAR FURNACE PADA CRUDE DISTILLATION UNIT CDU KILANG MINYAK MENGGUNAKAN PENGENDALI PID

CONTROLLING THE OUTLET OF CRUDE OIL TEMPERATURE FURNACE AT CRUDE DISTILATION UNIT CDU REFINERY SYSTEM USING PID CONTROLLER

ABSTRAK

Furnace adalah salah satu alat pemanas yang mengkonsumsi bahan bakar minyak fuel oil dan fuel gas dengan jumlah yang sangat besar. Pengoperasian mesin dan pemakaian bahan bakar secara optimal akan menghindari pemborosan energi oleh sebab itu diperlukan sistem kontrol yang baik pada furnace terutama pada aliran bahan bakar aliran udara air flow dan temperatur. Apabila alat ini tidak dapat bekerja maka sama saja dengan mengharuskan unit CDU untuk berhenti. Dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan pengendalian terhadap temperatur crude oil yang keluar furnace dengan memanipulasi laju bahan bakar pada crude distilation unit Kilang Minyak Balongan Jawa Barat. Furnace merupakan alat yang berfungsi sebagai pemanas lanjutan dari umpan sampai pada suhu 350 0C dan sebelum dipanaskan dalam furnace minyak mentah terlebih dahulu dipanaskan pada heat exchanger sebagai preheater. Sumber panas diperoleh dari hasil pembakaran bahan bakar minyak fuel oil gas fuel gas atau gabungan dari kedua bahan bakar tersebut. Panas hasil pembakaran sebagian digunakan untuk memanaskan minyak mentah dan sebagian lagi hilang melalui dinding furnace maupun cerobong asap stack. Dengan adanya sistem pengendalian pada furnace ini diharapkan ii dapat menghemat pemakaian bahan bakar sehingga dapat menghemat biaya operasi. Persamaan matematis berdasarkan neraca massa dan energi untuk menghitung suhu keluaran furnace. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan PID controller dan Zigler-Nichols tuning. Setelah dilakukan simulasi diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut Kc 0.003746 i 119.5 s D 29.875 s dengan nilai IAE sebesar 48.22.


ABSTRACT

Furnace is one of heater which consuming oil fuel and gas fuel in a big amount. Operation of machine and an optimal usage of fuel will avoid excees energy because of that good control systems at furnace is needed especially fuel stream air flow and temperature. If this application cannot work hence same with CDU must be stopped. In this research will be conducted by controlling the outlet of crude oil temperature furnace with fuel manipulation at CDU of Balongan Refinery System West Java. Furnace is functionize as advance heater from feed with temperature up to 350oC and before of that crude oil is heated by heat exchanger as preheater. Source of heat is obtained from the result of combustion fuel oil fuel gas or combining both of them. The result of combustion is used to heat crude oil and some of it lose through furnace wall and also stack gas. With existence of controlling system at this furnace is expected to economize usage of fuel in order to decrease operation cost. Mathematical equation based on mass and energy balance is used to calculate output temperature of furnace. In this research used PID controller and Zigler-Nichols tuning. After conducted by iv simulation it was obtained the following result Kc 0.003746 i 119.5 s D 29.875 s with IAE 48.22.
