ABSTRAK

Biodiesel bunga matahari merupakan salah satu bahan bakar alternatif yang dihasilkan dari biji bunga matahari dan dapat dipadukan dengan bahan bakar solar pada beberapa variasi campuran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan biodiesel bunga matahari 5-50 pada bahan bakar solar di mesin diesel 1 selinder 4 langkah. Uji perbandingan properties dan unjuk kerja mesin berbahan bakar solar murni dengan bahan bakar campuran solar dan biodiesel bunga matahari dengan variasi campuran 5 10 20 30 40 dan 50 dilakukan pada mesin diesel stasioner KAMA KM 178FS pada putaran 1500 rpm. Pengujian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Bahan Bakar dan Motor Pembakaran Dalam Teknik Mesin ITS. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan harga torsi daya dan bmep B.5 B.10 B.20 B.30 B.40 dan B.50 mengalami penurunan dengan prosentase sama yang besarnya berturut-turut 0.87 1.91 4.17 5.02 7.28 dan 9.15. Untuk harga bsfc mengalami kenaikan yang besarnya 2.33 4.51 9.08 11.71 15.05 dan 17.88.. Besarnya harga effisiensi thermis mengalami penurunan sebesar 1.93 3.85 5.70 7.33 10.01 dan 11.06..Sedangkan emisi gas buang yang ditimbulkan mengalami penurunan dengan prosentase 14.68 14.08 23.58 25.08 27.55 dan 30.26.


ABSTRACT

Sunflower biodiesel represent one of alternative fuel yielded from sunflower seed and can be combined with the diesel fuel at some variation of mixture. This research is conducted to know the influence of addition of sunflower biodiesel 5-50 at diesel fuel in diesel engine 1 selinder 4 stroke. Test the comparison of properties and performance engine with using the pure diesel fuel and mixture of diesel fuel and sunflower biodiesel with the variation of mixture 5 10 20 30 40 and 50 conducted on diesel engine of constan speed KAMA KM 178FS at rotation 1500 rpm. This testing is done in Laboratory of Fuel and internal combustion engine mechanical Engineering ITS. Result of examination show the value torsi power and bmep B.5 B.10 B.20 B.30 B.40 And B.50 experience of the degradation by prosentase is equal which is the level of successively 0.87 1.91 4.17 5.02 7.28 and 9.15. For the value of bsfc experience of the increase which is the level of 2.33 4.51 9.08 11.71 15.05 and 17.88. Level of value of effisiensi thermis experience of the degradation respectively 1.93 3.85 5.70 7.33 10.01 and 11.06. gas emission throw away generated experience of the degradation by prosentase 14.68 14.08 23.58 25.08 27.55 and 30.26
