ANALISA KEANDALAN UMUR LELAH STRUKTUR KAPAL DENGAN METODE MEAN VALUE FIRSTORDER SECOND-MOMENT MVFOSM

RELIABILITY ANALYSIS ON FATIGUE LIFE FOR SHIP STRUCTUREBY MEAN VALUE FIRST-ORDER SECOND-MOMENT MVFOSM

ABSTRAK

Tugas akhir ini merupakan studi kasus perancangan yang ditetapkan pada kapal tanker 17.500 DWT. Karakterisasi keandalan terhadap struktur kapal dilakukan dengan metode Mean Value First Order Second Moment MVFOSM dan simulasi Montecarlo. Kedua metode tersebut dipakai untuk memperkirakan indeks keandalan sebagai pijakan rasional atas tingkat keselamatan resiko yang ada pada kapal tersebut dan juga untuk memperkenalkan bagaimana teknis keandalan dapat dengan mudah dipakai dan selaiknya dipakai pada awal perancangan agar diperoleh hasil yang bersaing. Kedua metode ini ditetapkan pada ketangguhan terhadap kelajuan keretakan crack propagation pada pelat dasar kapal bottom plate akibat penyebaran berat kapal dan gelombang air laut pada kurun waktu tertentu. Penggunaan Konsep Fracture Mechanics Mekanika Kepecahan sesuai karena material pelat dianggap mempunyai cacat mula crack initiation sebesar 0.5mm dan moda kegagalanya adalah pada saat af retak akhir sama dengan tebal plat ini berarti kapal mengalami kebocoran. Dengan metode MVFOSM didapat bahwa nilai keandalan kapal dengan nilai selisih tegangan rata-rata sebesar 25.63353 MPa dengan COV 0.41615 dan tegangan rata-rata mean sebesar 47.8056 Mpa didapat jumlah siklus pembebanan kritis Nf kritis sebesar 2.3x108 putaran atau umur 36 tahun dengan keandalan 50. Tiap kenaikan 2x107 siklus terjadi penurunan nilai indeks keandalan semakin tinggi nilai siklus pembebanan penurunan terhadap nilai indeks keandalan akan semakin besar besar penurunan rata-rata indeks keandalan adalah 62.35. Terdapat perbedaan nilai keandalan antara metode MVFOSM dengan metode simulasi Montecarlo dengan perbedaan rata-rata yang bervariasi tergantung variabel yang divariasikan. Dengan memvariasikan jumlah siklus pembebanan Nf selisih rata-ratanya adalah 21.34 dengan memvariasikan nilai selisih tegangan selisih rata-ratanya adalah 22.2 dan dengan memvariasikan nilai tegangan rata-rata mean selisih rata-ratanya adalah 8.53.


ABSTRACT

This final project is case study on structure design of tanker 17500 DWT. Reliability characterizations on ship structure is done with MVFOSM method and Montecarlo simulation. Both of the methods are used to estimate the index of reliability as a rational foundation for the safety level risk on ship and also to introduce on how this reliability technique can be easily used and is better to use at the beginning of design to obtain good results. Both of the methods are used for toughness on crack propagation at bottom plating as a result of ship weight distribution and sea wave at a period of time. The use of fracture mechanics concept is relevant because the plate is assumed to have crack initiation at 0.5 mm length and the failure mode is at the end of crack which is equal as the plate thickness this means that the ship is having a leak. With MVFOSM method we then knew that the reliability value of the ship is at the value of stress difference average at 25.63353 MPa with COV 0.41615 and average stress mean is at 47.8056 MPa then we can obtain the amount of Critical load cycle Nf critical is at 2.3x108 cycle or 36 years of age with the reliability of 50. Each 2x107 cycle increase we will have a decreasing value of reliability index the larger the value of load cycle decrease will affect on the value of reliability index will become larger the average decrease of reliability index is 62.35. There is a difference on reliability value between MVFOSM method with Montecarlo simulation method with the average difference which varieties depends on the variable that is being variated. By varying the number of load cycle Nf the average difference is 21.34 by varying the value of stress difference we have the average difference of 22.2 and by varying the number of average stress mean we have the average difference of 8.53.
