Sistem pengkondisian udara pada kapal penumpang Ro – Ro Bawean yang akan beroperasi di perairan Surabaya – Bawean harus dirancang dengan tepat. Untuk itu, dalam Tugas Akhir ini akan dilakukan pemilihan dan perencanaan sistem sentral air conditioning yang menggunakan Fresh Water Chiller. Perencanaan diawali dengan melakukan perhitungan beban pendingin yang dibutuhkan untuk masing – masing ruangan. Setelah mendapatkan beban tersebut, dicari spesifikasi water chiller yang sesuai untuk kapal tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan maka diketahui besarnya kapasitas Water Chiller yaitu 400.452Btuh dengan kebutuhan air tawar sebanyak 18 m³/h.

The system of air conditioning on Ro – Ro Bawean passenger ship that will be operated in Surabaya – Bawean waters must be calculated exactly. Therefore, in this Final Project, will be choosen and planned the central air conditioning that using Fresh Water Chiller. The planning starts by calculating cooling load that needed in every rooms. After find the load, then look for the specification of water chiller that appropriate for the ship. Base on the result of calculation, so it’s found the capacity of Water Chiller about 400.452 Btuh with using fresh water about 18 m³/h.
