ABSTRAK

Penukar panas heat exchanger merupakan alat yang digunakan untuk memindah energi berupa kalor dari dua atau lebih aliran fluida yang berbeda temperatur. Rod Baffle Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger adalah salah satu tipe dari shell and tube heat exchanger dimana digunakan rod sebagai baffle. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian terhadap unjuk kerja rod baffle shell and tube heat exchanger dengan kenaikan sudut rod baffle 45 antar susunan rod. Perpindahan panas yang terjadi adalah perpindahan panas satu fase dimana fluida dingin yang melewati sisi shell adalah air dengan temperatur kamar dan fluida panas yang melewati sisi tube adalah air dengan temperatur 50 C. Debit fluida dingin divariasikan dari 400 hingga 950 lph. Debit fluida panas divariasikan antara 250 hingga 450 lph. Masing-masing dengan kenaikan 50 lph. Didapatkan data berupa Tci Tco Thi Tho Pci Pco Phi dan Pho. Dari penelitian didapatkan unjuk kerja alat penukar panas rodbaffle dengan kenaikan beda sudut 45 antara susunan rod yang satu dengan susunan beriktnya. Koefisien perpindahan panas konveksi h dan perpindahan panas aktual qaktual meningkat dengan kenaikan Rec. Effectiveness maksimum sebesar 05 dicapai pada NTU 069 untuk Cr 04. penurunan tekanan sisi dingin terbesar pada debit fluida dingin 950 lph sebesar 009 kgcm2.


ABSTRACT

Heat exchanger is an equipment that used for energy transfer as heat from two or more fluids with different temperatur. Rod baffle Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger is one of type Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger where used rod as baffle. In this experiment do testing about performance of Rod baffle Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger with 45 degrees difference increase between one rod formation and another. Heat transfer that occur is one phase heat transfer which cold fluid exceeded on side of tube is water with room temperature. Rate of flow from cold fluid have variation from 400 until 950 lph. Where as flow rate from hot fluids have variation between 250 until 450 lph. Each with 50 lph accension. From experiment haven Tci Tco Thi Tho Pci Pco Phi dan Pho. From execute experiment known performance of Rod baffle Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger with 45 degrees difference increase between one rod formation and another. Heat transfer coefficient h and actual heat transfer qactual increase with ascension. Maximum efectiveness is 05 in NTU 069 for Cr 04. Maximum pressure drop cold side 009kgcm2 at hot fluid flow rate 950 lph.
