PENGARUH SEAM WELD TIPE SPIRAL TERHADAP KEKUATAN DAN ALIRAN FLUIDA PADA PIPELINE

ABSTRAK

Untuk sebuah pipeline dengan panjang yang sama sambungan lasan berbentuk spiral mempunyai lasan seam weld yang lebih panjang dibandingkan dengan sambungan lasan lurus horizontal seam. Hal ini tentunya akan menyebabkan pipa spiral memiliki daerah Heat Affected Zone HAZ yang lebih panjang pula. Seam weld juga menyebabkan permukaan internal pipa menjadi tidak rata. Hal ini diperkirakan akan mempengaruhi aliran fluida yang mengalir di dalam pipa. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan suatu kajian mengenai pengaruh seam weld tipe spiral terhadap kekuatan pipa serta terhadap aliran fluida yang mengalir di dalam pipa. Analisis dilakukan dengan pemodelan secara numerik dengan menggunakan software ANSYS 11.0. Untuk analisis kekuatan digunakan empat model yaitu pipa horizontal seam dan spiral seam dengan variasi jarak pitch D 1.5D dan 2D. Beban yang bekerja adalah beban internal pressure. Sedangkan untuk analisis aliran fluida digunakan beberapa variasi data yaitu diameter pipa tinggi root weld jarak pitch dan kecepatan aliran fluida pada inlet. Dari hasil analisis didapatkan bahwa tegangan Von Misses maksimum terjadi pada model pipa spiral dengan jarak pitch D yakni sebesar 230 MPa dan deformasi maksimumnya adalah sebesar 1.94E-04 meter. Sedangkan pada pipa horizontal seam tegangan Von Misses maksimum adalah sebesar 89.2 MPa dan deformasi maksimumnya adalah sebesar 1.04E-04 meter. Pada analisis aliran fluida didapatkan bahwa adanya spiral seam weld berpengaruh terhadap perubahan kecepatan debit dan pressure aliran fluida dalam pipa. Penurunan kecepatan yang terjadi antara 0.061 ms hingga 0.345 ms. Sedangkan penurunan debit berkisar dari 0.0008 m3s hingga 0.0133 m3s. Untuk pressure penurunannya adalah antara 118.6 Pa hingga 1044.6 Pa.


ABSTRACT

Spiral seam weld has a longer seam than horizontal seam for pipeline with the same length. It will caused spiral pipe has a longer Heat affected Zone HAZ. Seam weld also caused emergence of rough on internal surface of pipe. This situation will affect fluid flow characteristics. This project studying influence of seam weld to pipeline strength and fluid flow characteristics. Analysis is conducted with numeric modeling helped by ANSYS 11.0. There are 4 models that made for strength analysis which are pipe horizontal seam and spiral seam with pitch distance variation D 1.5D and 2D. Load condition applied on pipe is internal pressure. To analyse fluid flow several variable data as pipe diameter root weld height pitch distance and fluid velocity at inlet are used. From the analysis it is obtain that maximum von misses stress occurred on spiral pipe with pitch distance D. Maximum von misses stress is 230 MPa and maximum deformation is 1.94E-04 m. In the other hand maximum von misses stress on horizontal seam is 89.2 MPa and maximum deformation is 1.04E-04 m. For fluid flow analysis it is found that spiral seam weld is affecting reduction of velocity flow rate and pressure of fluid in pipe. Descent of fluid velocity is range of 0.061 ms 0.345 ms and descent of flow rate is range of 0.0008 m3s 0.0133 m3s. For pressure the reduction is found in range of 118.6 Pa 1044.6 Pa.
