PENINGKATAN MODULUS ELASTISITAS DENGAN PELAPISAN SPINEL MGAL2O4 PADA PARTIKEL PENGUAT DAN VARIASI TEMPERATUR SINTERING DARI KOMPOSIT ISOTROPIK ALSIC

ABSTRAK

Komposit isotropik AlSiC merupakan suatu bahan yang mempunyai keunggulan dalam kekuatan dan ketahanan terhadap aus. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan proses pelapisan MgAl2O4 pada penguat SiC dengan metoda electroless plating dengan variasi konsentrasi Mg 001 002 003 dan 025 gram dengan konsentrasi Al konstan 05 gram ke dalam larutan HNO3. Metoda pembuatan bahan komposit yang digunakan adalah metoda metalurgi serbuk dengan variasi fraksi volume filler 10 20 30 dan 40 dan temperatur sinter 500 550 6000C. Karakterisasi yang dilakukan meliputi pengujian dengan SEM EDXA XRD dan pengujian tekan. Dari hasil penelitian terlihat bahwa fasa spinel MgAl2O4 yang berhasil dilapiskan pada penguat SiC menghasilkan distribusi penguat SiC yang lebih homogen dan menjadi pengikat perantara antara matrik aluminium dan penguat SiC. Nilai modulus elastisitas paling tinggi dimiliki oleh komposit AlSiC terlapisi MgAl2O4 dengan konsentrasi Mg 002 gram Vf 40 suhu sinter 6000C yaitu sebesar 251 GPa. Sedangkan nilai modulus elastisitas yang dimiliki oleh komposit AlSiC terlapisi MgAl2O4 dengan konsentrasi Mg 025 gram yaitu sebesar 81 GPa Vf 10 suhu sinter6000C.


ABSTRACT

Isotropic composite AlSiC is a ingredient that has superiority in strength and endurance towards worn-out. In this watchfulness is done veneering process MgAl2O4 in lasing SiC with method electroless plating with concentration variation Mg 001 002 003 and 025 gram with concentration Al constant 05 gram into solution HNO3. Composite ingredient maker method that is used powder metallurgy method with volume faction variation filler 10 20 30 and 40 and temperature sinter 500 550 6000C. Characterization that done to cover testing with SEM EDXA XRD and testing presses. From watchfulness result is seen that fasa spinel MgAl2O4 a success endue in lasing SiC produce lasing distribution SiC homogeneouser and be mediator binder between matrik alluminium and lasing SiC. Value modulus has by composite AlSiC arranged MgAl2O4 with concentration Mg 002 gram Vf 40 temperature sinter 6000C that is as big as 251 GPa. While value modulus elasticity that has by composite AlSiC arranged MgAl2O4 with concentration Mg 025 gram that is as big as 81 GPa Vf 10 temperature sinter6000C.
