ABSTRAK

HAPS High Altitude Platform Station merupakan wahana balon udaragas atau pesawat terbang yang berada pada lapisan stratosfir di ketinggian 20-50 km di atas permukaan laut yang dapat mengcover area yang luas tergantung dari ketinggian HAPS dan sudut elevasi yang diterima dari lokasi user. Pemodelan HAPS dengan menggunakan pesawat terbang stratospheric airplane sebagai platform lebih tepat penggunaannya pada bidang telekomunikasi dibandingkan dengan balon udara karena letak posisi platform sangat sensitif terhadap perubahan cuaca. Pada tugas akhir ini disimulasikan model kanal HAPS yang merupakan kanal dengan frequency selective fading karena adanya delay multipath yang menyebabkan interferensi antar simbol. Pemodelan kanal HAPS dipengaruhi oleh nilai excess delay CM power carrier LOS pathmultipath bitrate dan power delay profile. Simulasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan matlab kemudian kinerja BER pada sistem dibandingkan. Dari hasil simulasi dapat diketahui bahwa pada kondisi CM 18 dB kinerja kanal HAPS lebih baik daripada kondisi CM 6 dB. Dengan bitrate 4 Mbps 1 Mbps dan 0.25 Mbps serta adanya pengaruh power delay profile semakin kecil bitrate 0.25 Mbps dan power delay profilenya kinerja kanal HAPS menjadi semakin baik mendekati kondisi ideal flat fading.


ABSTRACT

HAPS High Altitude Platform Station is one of zeppelin or plane in stratosphere layer at 20-50 km above sea level. It is able to coverage wide area that depends HAPS height and elevation angle that user receive. HAPS models by using stratospheric airplane as a platform more effective than zeppelin it because of platform position sensitive change in the weather. This final project was simulate HAPS channel model the channel is frequency selective fading which caused by multi path delay that causing inter symbol interference. HAPS channel modelling is effected by excess delay value CM power carrier LOS path multi path bit rate and power delay profile. The simulation has done by using matlab program then compare with BER perform system. The result of simulation can be known that HAPS channel perform is better in CM 18 dB than CM 6 dB condition. Bit rate that is used are 4 Mbps 1 Mbps and 0.25 Mbps. The lower bit rate 0.25 Mbps and power delay profile the better HAPS channel perform through ideal flat fading condition.
