FERMENTASI MOLASES MENJADI ETANOL DILANJUTKAN EKSTRAKSI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN AMYL ALKOHOL SEBAGAI SOLVENT

FERMENTATION OF MOLASSES TO ETHANOL CONTINUED BY EXTRACTION WITH AMYL ALCOHOL AS SOLVENT

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk memperoleh yield etanol yang lebih besar dari proses konvensional dengan menggunakan proses Fermentasi dilanjutkan dengan proses Ekstraksi dengan Amyl Alkohol sebagai solvent. Metodologi penelitian ini dimulai dengan proses fermentasi dari molases dengan rate molases sebesar 1.5 ml menit. Proses fermentasi ini menggunakan immobilisasi sel Ca - Alginat dengan berat alginat sel dalam fermentor sebesar 150 gram. Kemudian didapatkan produk dari fermentor dianalisa dengan GC Gas Chromatografy broth dari fermentor dimasukkan ke dalam ekstraktor sebanyak 250 ml. Mengkontakkan dengan solvent Amyl Alkohol dengan ratio rate broth solvent sebesar 1 1 250 ml broth 250 ml solvent 1 1.5 250 ml broth 375 ml solvent dan 1 2 250 ml broth 500 ml solvent . Kemudian didapatkan produk dari ekstraktor produk tersebut dianalisa dengan menggunakan indeks bias dan GC Gas Chromatografy . Dari penelitian proses fermentasi molases dengan immobilisasi sel dan dilanjutkan dengan ekstraksi diperoleh kadar etanol tertinggi pada ratio rate 11 sebesar 4.65 dan yield sebesar 34.29 .


ABSTRACT

This research have purpose to get ethanols yield more than conventional process with fermentation and continued by extraction with amyl alcohol as solvent. This research method is begin by fermentation from molasses with rate of 1.5 mlmin.The fermentation using immobilitation cell by Ca-Alginat with weight of alginat cell 150 gram. Then the product from fermentor is analyzed by GC Gas Chromatografy brooth from fermentor tank is entered to extractor tank with amount of 250 ml . Contacting with amyl alcohol as solvent that rate ratio of broth and solvent are 1 1 250 ml broth 250 ml solvent 1 1.5 250 ml broth 375 ml solvent and 1 2 250 ml broth 500 ml solvent . Product of extractor tank will be analize with Indeks bias and GC Gas Chromatografy . From the research of molasses fermentation process using immobilitation cell continued by extraction obtained the high rate ratio ethanol which 1 1 is 4.65 and yield 34.29 .
