ABSTRAK

PT. Petrokimia Gresik is one of the biggest manure producer in Indonesia which in process of its production use big machines which generate noise especially at grinding section PA (phosphoric acid). To overcome the problem of that noise, we can giving the good and correct hearing protection devices to all worker. Determination of hearing protection devices can be done with calculation using method of NRR ( Noise Reduction Rating). Area of Grinding section PA has maximum noise level by overall is 106.2 dBA while minimum noise level is 93.6 dBA. Earplug and earmuff used concurrently represent most precise choice because owning NRR equal to 20,85 dB. Second alternative that is by using foam earplug with NRR equal to 17,25 dB. Third alternative by using active noise reduction headsets with NRR equal to 15,07 dB. From quisioner which have been filled, all worker assume the noise in place is high enough and situation in this unit longer also excelsior.
