ABSTRAK

Minyak Pala Nutmeg Oil diekstrak dari biji pala kering yang telah dihaluskan dengan ukuran 24 mesh. Pada penelitian ini dipelajari pengaruh tekanan pada separator 1 dalam ekstraksi nutmeg oil. Ekstraksi dilakukan dalam unit alat ekstraksi superkritis dengan kapasitas ekstraktor sama dengan separator 1 100 cc buatan Thermo Separation Product USA. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan pada tekanan ekstraksi 25 MPa temperatur ekstraksi 40 oC dan waktu ekstraksi 180 menit dengan variabel tekanan yaitu 8-14 MPa dan suhu 40 oC pada separator 1. Hasil ekstrak yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan GC-MS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yield ekstrak yang dihasilkan hampir sama walaupun kondisi separator 1 bervariasi dengan kondisi ekstraktor dan separator 2 konstan. Kenaikan tekanan separator 1 menyebabkan solubilitas nutmeg oil dalam CO2 superkritis meningkat. Dan solubilitas fatty acid semi solid mengalami kenaikan pada tekanan tinggi. Sedangkan kondisi operasi separasi dengan hasil yield nutmeg oil yang terbaik ditunjukkan oleh kondisi tekanan 12 MPa dan temperatur 40C pada separator 1 dengan yield total nutmeg oil sebesar 702 . Hasil ekstrak mengandung essential oil dan fatty acid dengan myristicin sebagai komponen utamanya.


ABSTRACT

Nutmeg oil extracted from dry nutmeg seed grinded in 24 mesh size. The research study pressure influence in separator I in nutmeg oil extraction . Extraction being done with supercritical equipment unit with ekstraktor capacity equal to Separator I capacity 100 cc Thermo Separation Product USA. Operational extraction Pressure at 25 Mpa extraction temperature at 40 oC and 180 minute extraction time with pressure variable vary from 8 to 14 Mpa and separator I temperature at 40 oC. Extracted result nutmeg oil then being analyzed using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry GC-MS. The research result show that extract yield obtained almost equal even if the condition in separator I vary and the condition in extractor and separator II constant . Pressure increase in separator I cause nutmeg oil solubility in supercritical CO2 to increase . and fatty acid solubility semi solid component start to increase when the pressure become very high. The best operation condition that give good nutmeg oil yield showed in 12 Mpa pressure and 40 oC temperature condition in separator I that give 7.02 nutmeg oil yield . Extraction result contain essential oil and fatty acid with myristicin as main component.
