PENINGKATAN PRODUKTIVITAS ETANOL DARI NIRA DENGAN PROSES FERMENTASI EKSTRAKSI

ABSTRAK

Salah satu hal yang menjadi bahan penelitian menyangkut sumber energi yang berasal dari bahan yang dapat diperbaharui adalah produk Gasohol yang merupakan campuran antara gasolin BBM dan alkohol dalam hal ini etanol. Etanol sendiri merupakan sumber energi alternatif yang dapat diperbaharui serta dapat digunakan pada semua jenis mesin salah satu metode untuk memproduksi etanol adalah melalui proses fermentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi alginat cell terhadap kadar dan yield etanol dan untuk mengetahui produktivitas etanol yang optimal oleh bakteri Zymomonas mobilis dengan menggunakan proses fermentasi ekstraksi secara kontinyu serta Amyl alkohol sebagai solvent. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik penjebakan atau immobilisasi sel dalam Ca-Alginat. Pada proses fermentasi ini temperatur dijaga pada suhu 30oC suhu ruang Ph 4 dan konsentrasi glukosa 10 vv. Sedangkan konsentrasi Ca-alginat 4 6 8 wv.Serta variasi antara brooth dan solvent 500 ml500 ml 500 ml1000 ml.Etanol yang dihasilkan dari ekstraktor dianalisa indeks bias sampai kondisi steady kemudian dianalisa dengan GC Gas Chromatography. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi Ca-alginat yang digunakan maka kadar produktivitas dan yield etanol cenderung mengalami penurunan. Kadar produktivitas yield etanol tertinggi diperoleh pada konsentrasi Ca-Alginat 6 masing-masing sebesar 104148 glt 05207 gl.jam dan 09393 .


ABSTRACT

One of the main thing research about the energy that made from renewable resources is called Gasohol which is made from mixture between Gasoline and Alcohol that is ethanol. Fermentation process is one of the method to produce ethanol. The aim of this research is for knowing the Ca-Alginate concentration for ethanol content ethanol yield and the optimum ethanol productivity by Zymomonas mobilis in extractive fermentation process using Amyl Alcohol as a solven. This experiment was done by using entrapped cell or Immobilized cell method in Ca-Alginate. The temperature was set on 30oC room temperatureacidity pH 4 and 10 vv of sugar concentration. Otherwise Ca-Alginate concentration that is 46 and 8 wv also variation between brooth and solven 500 ml500 ml 500 ml1000 ml.Ethanol that is produced from extractor was analyzed by refractometer until steady condition then continued analyzed using GC Gas Chromatography. The result is by increasing of Ca-Alginate concentration the valueproductivity and ethanol yield would be had a decreased score. The highest of value productivity and ethanol yield was held on 6 wv of Ca-Alginate concentration that are 104148 glt 052079 gl.jam and 09393.
