Description:

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa secara komputasional proses absorpsi reaktif H2S pada biogas dengan menggunakan larutan katalis Fe-EDTA, sehingga fenomena perpindahan massa gas dalam larutan pada packed column yang disertai reaksi kimia dapat dipelajari. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara teoritis dengan mengembangkan model matematika untuk fenomena perpindahan massa disertai reaksi kimia pada proses absorbsi reaktif H2S kedalam larutan Fe-EDTA pada packed column. Digunakan model film untuk proses perpindahan massa antar fasanya. Permodelan ini terdiri dari dua bagian yaitu permodelan untuk estimasi enhancement factor dan laju transfer massa antara fasa yang menghasilkan suatu persamaan differensial orde dua yang diselesaikan dengan metode orthogonal collocation dan permodelan neraca massa mikroskopis sistem gas dan liquida yang menghasilkan sistem persamaan differensial orde satu yang diselesaikan secara numerik dengan menggunakan metode Runge Kutta orde empat. Pemrograman dilaksanakan dengan fasilitas MATLAB 6.1. Hasil prediksi simulasi divalidasi dengan data eksperiment peneliti terdahulu (M.S.Horikawa et al, 2004). Harga-harga variabel yang digunakan adalah laju alir gas masuk GV = 1000 ml/min, laju alir liquida masuk L = 10 – 300 ml/min, tekanan gas P = 1 – 2.5 atm, kosentrasi liquida masuk CB = 0.2 kmol/m3. Dari hasil penelitian pada laju alir gas 1000 ml/min, laju alir liquida 68 ml/min, dan tekanan 1 atm dihasilkan % removal 72.3636, dan pada laju alir gas dan liquida yang sama namun tekanan 2 atm dihasilkan % removal 80.6364. Dari hasil yang didapatkan dapat disimpulkan H2S yang terabsorpsi sangat dipengaruhi oleh harga tekanan, temperatur serta laju alir liquida. Semakin besar tekanan gas semakin besar H2S yang terabsorpsi, dan semakin besar laju alir liquida masuk maka semakin besar pula H2S yang terabsorpsi.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the reactive absorption H2S to biogas using Fe-EDTA catalyze computationally, therefore the phenomena mass transfer of gas with chemical reaction in the solution at packed column can be studied. This research was carried out theoretically to develop the mathematical model of mass transfer phenomena with chemical reaction in reactive absorption H2S in the Fe-EDTA solution at packed column. The mass transfer process using film model, which consist of 2 parts that is a model for enhancement factor estimation and mass transfer rate to made order 2 differential equations with orthogonal collocation, and a model microskopis mass balance gas and liquid system in packed column to made order 1 differential equation numerically used order 4 Runge Kutta methode. This program using MATLAB 6.1 fasilitation. The result was validated with the previous experiment (M.S Horikawa et al,2004). The variable are gas rate input (G = 1000 ml/min), liquid rate input (L = 10-300 ml/min), gas pressure (P =1-2.5 atm), liquid concentration input (Cbin = 0.2-2 kmlo/m3). The result at 1000 ml/min gas rate, 68 ml/min liquid rate, and 1 atm pressure is 72.36 % removal, and at the same rate of gas and liquid, but at 2 atm pressure was resulted 80.63 % removal. The conclution of this research are so affected with pressure, temperature and the liquid rate. The bigger gas pressure and liquid rate input the bigger H2S was absorbed.
