PENGEMBANGAN ALAT UKUR KERATAAN PERMUKAAN DENGAN METODE FMEA

ABSTRAK

Alat ukur kerataan permukaan menggunakan sensor LVDT yang dimiliki oleh Laboratorium Metrologi Industri dan Kalibrasi Dimensi Teknik Mesin ITS masih memiliki beberapa kelemahan. Dari evaluasi dan uji coba yang telah dilakukan ada beberapa komponen dari alat ukur kerataan tersebut yang tidak mampu menjalankan fungsinya dengan maksimal. Yaitu motor sering tidak berputar atau jika dapat berputar maka putaran motor tidak dapat ditransfer ke ulir penggerak karena terjadi slip serta posisi dan orientasi sensor LVDT yang tidak stabil. Pada pengembangan yang menggunakan metode FMEA ini dilakukan dengan cara mengevaluasi dan mencatat semua bentuk kegagalan dan efek yang ditimbulkan pada lembar FMEA meng-overhaul komponen alat ukur keseluruhan menentukan dan melakukan langkah perbaikan serta pengujian alat ukur yang sudah dikembangkan. Dari perbandingan hasil pengukuran sebelum dan sesudah pengembangan dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil yang didapatkan dari pengembangan ini adalah meningkatnya performa keakuratan dan kepresisian dari alat ukur kerataan dalam melakukan pengukuran. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh adanya penurunan selisih nilai mean yaitu dari 2413 m menjadi 0011 m pada metode Union Jack dan dari 0900 m menjadi 0065 m pada metode Kisi. Demikian juga terjadi penurunan standar deviasi dari 0825 m menjadi 0190 m pada metode Union Jack dan dari 0264 m menjadi 0212 m pada metode Kisi.


ABSTRACT

The surface flatness measurement instrument owned by Industrial Metrology and Dimention Calibration Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering of ITS still had some weaknesses.From the evaluation and trial that had been done there was some components that could not running out its functions maximally. Such as the driver motor could not rotating or if it could so the rotating could not be transferred to the driver screw cause there was slip the position and orientation of LVDT sensor that unstable and some other failures. To solve those failures the instrument and its components are evaluated by using Failures Modes and Effects Analysis methods FMEA. The steps are evaluating and recording all failures modes and its effects on the FMEA worksheets overhauling the instrument and all components deciding and doing action of repairing and the last is to testing and evaluating the developed instrument. By comparing the measurement result after and before developed it can be concluded that this development has increased the performance accuracy and precision of this instrument in measuring. It is shown by the reduction of the mean number difference that is from 2.413 m to 0.011m on the Union Jack Method and from 0.900 m to 0.065 m on the Grid Method. And so do there is reduction of the deviation standard number difference that is from 0.825 m to 0.190 m on the Union Jack Method and from 0.264 m to 0.213 m on the Grid Method.
