Description:

Mesin dan peralatan yang berada di dalam kamar mesin mengeluarkan panas ketika beroperasi, untuk mengatasi panas tersebut, diperlukan udara yang disuplai dari luar kamar mesin oleh sistem ventilasi. Selain berfungsi untuk menyuplai udara segar ke dalam kamar mesin, sistem ventilasi juga berfungsi untuk mensirkulasikan udara panas yang dikeluarkan oleh mesin dan peralatan ke luar kamar mesin. Sehingga diperlukan sistem ventilasi yang mampu menyuplai dan mensirkulasikan udara dengan optimal dikamar mesin. Dari rancangan sistem ducting ventilasi pada kamar mesin dapat diketahui aliran udara yang bersirkulasi di dalam kamar mesin. Pola aliran udara (temperatur, kecepatan, tekanan) dapat diketahui dengan simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Dari simulasi CFD nantinya diharapkan dapat diketahui pola aliran udara di dalam kamar mesin, sehingga dapat diketahui sistem ventilasi yang dapat bekerja dengan optimal. Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengkondisian udara dalam kamar mesin yaitu pada sistem ventilasinya sehinngga dapat mencapai temperatur yang optimum dengan menggunakan simulasi CFD

The operation on Main Engine and equipments in engine room release heat flux. To overcome the heat not exceeds the regulation, need fresh air which supplied from outside ship by ventilation system. The functions of ventilation system are for combustion, prevention the engine room temperature (for healthy purpose) and for spread the heat radiation. To reach these functions, this study was done by simulating the air flow in the engine room based on Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD). Many configuration of inlet and outlet of ventilation system were simulated and the air flow characteristics were known. Using the result of simulations the optimum temperature can be recognized and also the location of out let can be determined
