ABSTRAK

Besarnya temperatur interpass sering kali tidak diperhatikan dalam proses pengelasan di lapangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh temperatur interpass terhadap mechanical properties dan stuktur mikro dari hasil pengelasan dengan variasi temperatur interpass 75O C 125O C dan 150O C pada material AH36. Percobaan ini menggunakan material baja tipe AH36 dengan jenis sambungan las tumpul butt joint. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah cacat yang banyak terdeteksi terjadi pada proses pengelasan dengan temperatur interpass 75 OC yaitu jenis cacat las slag inclusion dan porosity. Persimpangan sudut distorsi terbesar terjadi pada pengelasan dengan temperatur interpass 75 OC yaitu pada sambungan tumpul sebesar 2.09 derajat dan pada 125 OC sebesar 1.05 derajat sedangkan pada temperatur interpass 150 OC sebesar 1.25 derajat.. Sedangkan nilai ketangguhan tertinggi dicapai pada temperatur interpass 150 OC sebesar 110 ksi inchi untuk weld metal dan 105 ksi inchi untuk HAZ. Dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa faktor yang sangat berpengaruh dalam proses pengelasan untuk menghasilkan kualitas pengelasan dan ketangguhan yang baik adalah masukan panas heat input dan perlakuan pada saat pengelasan.


ABSTRACT

Oftenly the value of interpass temperature in the welding process are not observed. The aim of this research is to know effect of interpass temperature on mechanical properties and micro structure in the welding process using carbon steel AH36 with variation of interpass temperature 75O C125 O C and 150 O C. The research use carbon steel AH 36 material using butt joint. The welding result shown that the amount of welding defect many occurs on welding process using interpasss temperature 75 OC kinds of defect that occurs is slag inclusion and porosity. The biggest intersection of distortion angle happen in the interpass temperature 75 OC that is in the butt joint welding as big as 2.09 degress and on the 125 OC as big as 1.05 degress thereas on the interpass temperature 150 OC as big as 1.25 degress. However the highest strength achieved at interpass temperature 150 OC as big as 110 ksiinchi for weld metal and 105 ksi inchi for HAZ. From the result can be concluded that the most influence factor on the welding process for the best result and highest toughness is heat input on the welding process.
