PRODUKSI ETANOL MENGGUNAKAN ZYMOMONAS MOBILIS YANG DIAMOBILISASI DENGAN AGAROSA

ETHANOL PRODUCTION USING Zymomonas mobilis THAT IMMOBILIZED WITH AGAROSE

ABSTRAK

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan ini berkaitan dengan amobilisasi sel bakteri Zymomonas mobilis dengan agarosa untuk fermentasi etanol. Konsentrasi optimal agarosa untuk mengamobil 116 x 1010 selmL bakteri Zymomonas mobilis adalah 4 bv. Fermentasi berlangsung efektif pada konsentrasi glukosa 10 dengan temperatur ruang selama 120 jam. Pada kondisi tersebut jumlah etanol maksimum yang dihasilkan adalah 556 9747 004 yield etanol bila dibandingkan dengan hasil teoritis sedangkan laju pembentukan etanolnya adalah sebesar 037 0001 g.L-1.jam-1. Setelah empat kali pengulangan fermentasi sel amobil Zymomonas mobilis masih memiliki aktivitas sebesar 9011 dari aktivitas bakteri semula. Setelah penyimpanan selama 10 hari dalam suhu 4 C sel amobil Zymomonas mobilis kehilangan 4733 aktivitasnya.


ABSTRACT

The research has been realized is the experiment of immobilized Zymomonas mobilis cells on agarose matrix in order to produce ethanol. Zymomonas mobilis cells 116 x 1010 selmL were effectively immobilized in agarose concentration of 4 wv. Fermentation can be effective in media containing 10 of glucose concentration for 120 hours in room temperature. In such condition fermentation yield ethanol with concentration of 5.56 9747 0.04 compared with the theoretical yield while the ethanol production rate was 037 0001 g.L-1.h-1. After four times repetition of fermentation immobilized cells of Zymomonas mobilis still had activities of 90.11 compared with initial activity. After 10 days freezing storage in 4 C the immobilized cells of Zymomonas mobilis have lost 4733 of their activities.
