ANALISA PENGARUH VARIASI TEGANGAN TERHADAP KETEBALAN LAPISAN PERMUKAAN PADA PROSES ELEKTROPLATING TEMBAGA NIKEL DAN KROM

ANALYSIS INFLUENCE OF VOLTAGE TO COAT SURFACE THICKNESS ON ELECTROPLATING PROCESS COPPER NICKEL AND CHROM

ABSTRAK

Seiring dengan semakin pesatnya perkembangan teknologi berbagai barang perhiasan kerajinan komponenkomponen kendaraan bermotor peralatan rumah tangga dan peralatan pabrik dilapisi krom dengan teknologi elektroplating karena memiliki beberapa keunggulan diantaranya membuat permukaan benda menjadi lebih mengkilap dan keras tahan korosi serta memiliki nilai tambah. Proses pelapisan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode yang dikenal sebagai plating 3 lapis dengan urutan proses pelapisan tembaga sianida dilanjutkan dengan pelapisan nikel dan tahap akhir berupa lapisan krom. Parameter dalam penelitian ini menggunakan benda kerja berupa plat baja variasi tegangan voltase 1V 2V 3V..... 9V 10V 12V 16V 20V 24V dan 28V dengan jarak antara anoda dan katoda temperatur elektrolit serta waktu pelapisan yang dijaga konstan. Dari analisa hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa pada pelapisan tembaga dari tegangan 1 Volt sampai dengan 28 Volt terjadi kenaikan ketebalan dari 1 m menjadi 11 m pada pelapisan nikel dari tegangan 1 Volt sampai dengan 28 Volt terjadi kenaikan ketebalan dari 3 m menjadi 19 m untuk pelapisan krom dari tegangan 1 Volt sampai dengan 28 Volt terjadi kenaikan ketebalan dari 1 m menjadi 3 m. Tegangan sangat berpengaruh terhadap tembaga nikel maupun krom. Semakin besar tegangan yang digunakan maka semakin tebal lapisan yang didapatkan akan tetapi pada tegangan yang tinggi lapisan yang terjadi akan mengalami penurunan kualitas tampak rupa. Lapisan dengan tampak rupa yang mengkilap dan rata didapatkan pada tegangan yang relatif rendah dan waktu yang relatif lama


ABSTRACT

Along with the fast technology development various of ornament goods craft motor vehicle components equipments of household and equipments of factor are coated by chrome with technology of electroplating because of having some excellence such it can make surface of object become harder and glossier hold up corrosion and also have added value. The coating process done this research is used method known as plating 3 enduing with the following process sequence coating of cyanide copper continued with coating nickel and the final phase in the form of chrome coating. Parameter in this research using work object in the form of steel plate the voltage variation are 1V 2V 3V..... 9V 10V 12V 16V 20V 24V and 28V with distance between cathode and anode electrolyte temperature and also a time of coating are taken care constantly. The analysis result of this research got that result of that coating of copper from 1 volt up to 28 volt happened thick increase from 1 m become 11 m at the coating of nickel from 1 volt up to 28 volt happened thick increase from 3 m become 19 m for the coating of chrome from 1 volt up to 28 volt happened thick increase from 1 m become 3 m. Voltage do effect to copper chrome and also nickel. The greater we use voltage we can get the thicks progressively however at high voltage of coated that happened will effect to the degradation of visible quality of aspect. Coat with glossier aspect and flatten can be got by lower voltage and a long time.
