Instalasi pipa jaringan banyak dipakai dalam kehidupan manusia salah satunya yaitu untuk pendistribusian air pada perumahan. Permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada pemasangan instalasi pipa jaringan adalah tidak diketahuinya debit aliran dan kerugian-kerugian head yang terjadi pada tiap pipa. Keadaan tersebut akan mengakibatkan distribusi air yang mengalir pada suatu instalasi pipa jaringan air tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang diminta oleh penduduk. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu perhitungan mengenai debit aliran dan kerugian head yang terjadi disetiap pipa secara tepat, dengan tujuan memprediksi distribusi air pada pipa jaringan secara akurat. Untuk kasus ini Matlab 7 dipakai sebagai software pembantu didalam perhitungan sehingga dalam perencanaan instalasi pipa jaringan jumlah debit air yang dibutuhkan dapat ditentukan dengan cepat dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Dari hasil perhitungan dengan program dapat dilihat kapasitas air tiap pipa, sehingga dalam perencanaan instalasi pipa jaringan kita dapat menetukan diameter pipa yang akan digunakan.

Network pipe instalations are many using in human life. One of its is to distribute the water to houses. The problem which often happen in this network pipe instalation is the unknown a flow rate of pipeline and the head loss which happen in each pipes. That situation will make the unsuitable the necessity of inhabitant with distribute of water in a network pipe instalation. So that, it needs a calculate about a flow rate of pipeline and head loss which happen in each pipes accurately, in order to predict the water distribution in network pipe as accurate. In this case, MATLAB 7 is using as software helper in calculate, so, the sum flow rate of water can planning fast and suitable with necessity. From the result of calculate with program we can see the capacity of water in each pipe. So we can determine the diameter of pipe that will using in the planning network pipe instalation.
