ABSTRAK

Azas utama penyediaan bangunan sipil adalah untuk tujuan kemanusiaan. Oleh karena itu perlu diperhatikan faktor keamanan dan kenyamanan bagi penghuninya. Beberapa tahun terakhir perancangan isolasi dasar base isolation yang digunakan untuk perlindungan gedung dari bahaya dan kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh gempa bumi telah digunakan sebagai teknologi dalam perancangan struktur gedung di wilayah gempa tinggi. Beberapa type struktur telah didesain menggunakan teknologi ini baik gedung yang telah dibangun maupun yang masih dalam tahap konstruksi. Teknologi ini telah digunakan oleh beberapa negara seperti Cina Jepang dan Amerika Serikat. Dalam pemodelan struktur gedung dengan base isolator diperlukan pemodelan base isolator yang optimum sehingga akan diperoleh lateral dan vertical displacement yang akurat. Analisis dilakukan dengan cara analisa dinamik yang dilakukan pada tiga type struktur yaitu struktur tinggi 20 lantai sedang 12 lantai dan pendek 8 lantai. Pada struktur base isolator percepatan akibat beban gempa akan lebih kecil dibandingkan pada gedung konvensionl energi gempa dari struktur bawah pondasi akan direduksi oleh lead rubber bearing sebelum ditransfer ke struktur. Lead Rubber Bearing LRB adalah salah satu sistem anti seismik base isolator yang banyak digunakan pada bangunan untuk mereduksi gaya gempa. LRB ini terdiri dari beberapa lapisan karet alam atau sintetik yang mempunyai nisbah redaman kritis antara 2-5. Untuk dapat menahan beban vertikal tidak terjadi tekuk maka karet diberi lempengan baja yang dilekatkan ke lapisan karet dengan sistem vulkanisir. Untuk meningkatkan nisbah redaman sistem ini maka pada bagian tengahnya diberikan batangan bulat dari timah. Dari hasil analisis SAP 2000 struktur yang dibangun di wilayah gempa tinggi dengan menggunakan base isolator LRB memberikan respon struktur yang lebih baik. Gedung dengan LRB akan memiliki perioda alami yang lebih lama dibandingkan dengan struktur gedung dengan fix base. Selain itu bila ditinjau gaya-gaya dalam pada struktur dengan base isolator seolaholah gedung tersebut dibangun di wilayah gempa yang lebih kecil.


ABSTRACT

The main principle of providing the civilian buildings is for the humanity purposes. Therefore it is necessary to consider the safety and comfort for the dwellers. For the past few years the design of base isolation which is implemented to protect the buildings from the hazard and damage due to earthquake has been used as a new technology in the design of buildings in high seismic zones. Several types of structures have been designed by this technology either those had been designed or still under construction. This technology has been adopted in few countries such as China Japan and USA. In the structural modeling of a building with the base isolators it is required to create an optimum base isolator model so that an accurate prediction on the lateral and vertical displacements can be achieved. The analysis is carried out using dynamic analysis on the following three structural types i.e. high-rise 20 stories medium-rise 12 stories and low-rise buildings 8 stories. For buildings with base isolators the accelerations due to the earthquake loadings are less than those in the conventional buildings. The seismic energy from the substructure foundation is reduced by the lead rubber bearing prior to be transmitted to the superstructure. Lead Rubber Bearing LRB is a type of base isolators of anti seismic systems that has been widely used in the buildings to reduce the earthquake loading. This LRB comprises several layers of natural or synthetic rubbers that have critical damping ratios between 2 to 5 percent. To be able to resist the vertical loading to avoid buckling the rubber is inserted with a number of steel plates which are attached to the rubber layers by using a vulcanizing system. To increase the damping ratio a circular rod made of tin is provided in the center part of the bearing. From SAP 2000 analytical results for buildings constructed in the high seismic regions on LRB base isolators provide better structural responses. Buildings with LRB have longer natural periods than the buildings stand on fixed bases. Besides in terms of structural internal forces the building on LRB is as if constructed in the lower risk seismic zones.
