Description:

Twin M Hull merupakan modifikasi lambung pengembangan dari lambung jenis M Hull. Bagian terpenting dalam konsep M Hull adalah planing tunnel. Pada bagian tersebut, diharapkan terjadi hydrodynamic lift dan aerodynamic lift yang baik sehingga mampu mengurangi viscous drag sekaligus meningkatkan kecepatan kapal. Dengan konsep aero - hydrodynamic support, kapal dengan lambung Twin M Hull mampu mencapai kecepatan 50 knot. Semakin optimal desain pada planing tunnel pada Twin M Hull , maka akan didapatkan besar tahanan kapal yang semakin kecil sehingga didapat kecepatan yang tinggi. Pada tugas akhir ini akan dianalisa bentuk planing tunnel Twin M Hull yang optimal agar didapatkan tahanan kapal yang kecil sehingga kecepatan kapal semakin tinggi. Analisa dilakukan melalui pemodelan yang disimulasikan pada program CFD. Program ini dapat menggambarkan bentuk aliran yang terjadi terutama untuk bagian yang tercelup air (dimana lambung kapal berada); dari sini diharapkan dapat diketahui tahanan yang terjadi pada lambung kapal yang dianalisa

Twin M Hull is a development of hull modification from a standard M Hull. The key point from M Hull concept is planing tunnel. In that area, ydrodynamic lift and aerodynamic lift must has great value so can reduce viscous drag and improve speed service. With aero-hydrodynamic support, a vessel with Twin M Hull can achieve 50 knot at service speed. More optimal planing tunnel design at Twin M Hull the ship resistance can be smaller so it can achieve high speed. In this final project, the objective is to analyze an optimal design of planing tunnel in order to reduce ship’s resistance and increase high speed. Analysis will be done through a ship model which simulated in CFD program. This program can show a fluid flow in immerse area which there hull located. From this point, the expected result is to know a resistance which affected in ship hull.
