ABSTRAK

Penelitian dilakukan dengan membiarkan material 5083 di ruangan terbuka atmosfir setelah pembersihan dengan variasi waktu nol lima dan sepuluh hari. Spesimen A setelah dibersihkan langsung dilakukan pengelasan nol hari spesimen B pengelasan dilakukan setelah lima hari dan spesimen C setelah sepuluh hari sejak pembersihan. Pengelasan dilakukan dengan posisi weld bead 1G dan pada saat dilakukan pengelasan permukaan alur las tidak dibersihkan lagi. Hasil pengelasan diuji dengan radiografi metalografi dan uji kekerasan. Dari hasil pengujian diketahui setelah pengelasan permukaan lasan timbul jelaga dan bintik-bintik kasar dimana semakin lama dibiarkan sebelum pengelasan jelaga dan bintik-bintik yang dihasilkan semakin banyak. Struktur mikro pada logam las mempunyai ukuran butir lebih besar. Pada logam las jumlah partikel Mg2Al3 pada hasil foto mikro untuk specimen A B dan C berturut-turut 12.6 7.2 dan 5.1. partikel FeMn3SiAl6 berturut-turut 9.3 5.8 dan 5.5 sedangkan partikel Mg2Si berturut-turut 6.6 4.5 dan 4.3. Dari hasil uji Vickers dapat diketahui distribusi kekerasan pada logam las pada specimen A B dan C berturut turut 112 HV 119 HV dan 162 HV.


ABSTRACT

The experiment was done by keeping open material 5083 in open air atmosphere room after cleaning by variance of time 0 5 until 10 days. Specimen A was cleaned and then welded at zero days for specimen B welding was applied after five days and 10 days after cleaning for specimen C. Welding process was done by using weld bead 1 G position and there was no cleaning process on the weld slot after all. Result of those experiments was tested by radiography metallographic and hardness test. From experiment was known that after welding process black smokesoot and coarse grained spot appeared on the weld surface while it inherently become bigger and larger. Microstructure on welding material has bigger coarse-grained. Number of area in micro photograph with particle Mg2Al3 for specimen A B and C shown by order are 12.6 7.2 and 5.1 and for FeMn3SiAl6 are 9.3 5.8 and 5.5 while for particles Mg2Si are 6.6 4.5 and 4.3. From Vickers test result was known that hardness distribution in weld metal in specimen A B and C were 112 HV 119 HV and 162 HV
