EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FLUID FLOW CHARACTERISTICS PASSING THROUGH A I TYPE CYLINDER NEAR FLATE PLATE FOR LAMINAR AND TURBULENT BOUNDARY Case Study for The Effect of Distance Cylinder And Flate Plate 0600 8804 GD 8804 0733

ABSTRAK

Penelitian mengenai aliran external sampai saat ini terus berkembang dan masih dilakukan. Penelitian terhadap profil silinder yang dialiri fluida pada bidang mekanika fluida telah banyak dilakukan dengan berbagai macam konfigurasi dan model susunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karekteristik aliran yang melintasi silinder teriris type-I khususnya bila silinder teriris tersebut diletakkan dekat dinding untuk lapis batas laminar dan turbulent Pada penelitian ini digunakan silinder tipe I yang diiris pada bagian depan dan belakang dengan sudut iris 952s 53 odan 65 o silinder tersebut diletakkan dekat dinding wind tunel dengan jarak antara pelat datar dan silinder relatif terhadap diameter silinder Gd sebesar 06 0667 0733. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dalam subsonic wind tunnel pada R e 53000 dengan penambahan kawat berdiameter 4 mm diletakan pada sisi upstream pelat datar untuk menciptakan variasi ketebalan lapis batas turbulent pada posisi silinder berada. Karakteristik aliran fluida yang diteliti adalah distribusi koefisien tekanan Cp koefisien drag CDP koefisien lift CLP profil kecepatan di belakang silinder dan melakukan visualisasi aliran menggunakan metode oil flow picture. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan untuk variasi rasio jarak gap 0600 8804 GD 8804 0733 didapatkan bahwa semakin besar rasio jarak gap Gd terhadap silinder maka pengaruh dari tebal lapis batas yang ditimbulkan pelat datar semakin berkurang dan pelat datar memberikan pengaruh terjadinya buble separation pada sisi lower silinder. Pengaruh perbedaan lapis batas pelat datar pada silinder terlihat pada silinder teriris tipe-I 952s 53 o dan 65 o dan perbedaan sudut iris pada silinder berpengaruh pada letak posisi separasi aliran nilai CDP dan CLP silinder serta profil kecepatan aliran dibelakang silinder.


ABSTRACT

Nowdays research about external flow is still developed. Many variations have been done to get data about fluid flow characteristics passing through around cylinder. The objectives of this experiments are to get information about flow characteristics that passing through I-type cylinder especially cylinder that placed near the wall for turbulent and laminar boundary layer. This researches have been done experimentally in sub sonicwind tunnel with Reynolds number Re 53000. Test pieces that used are a wall flate platewire and several cylinders with gap and cylinder diameter ratio GD of 0600 0667 and 0733. Cylinder that used are I-type cylinders with cutting angle 952s variation of 53 and 65. Fluid flow characteristics measured are coefficient of pressure distribution Cp drag coefficient CDP lift coefficient CLP velocity profile behind the cylinder. Flow visualization with oil flow picture has been done too in the subsonic wing tunnel with Re 53000. From the result of experiment it can be seen that the 0600 8804 GD 8804 0733 greater gap ratio upon cylinder diameter produces smaller effect of boundary layer thickness on flate plate. Flate plate influenced for bubble separation that occurred at lower side of cylinder. The differences of flat plate boundary layer were occurred for cutting angle 53 and 65. The effect of cutting angle are position of flow separation taken place CDP CLP and velocity profile behind cylinder.
