ABSTRAK

PT. PAL Indonesia merupakan salah satu perusahaan negara terkemuka di Indonesia yang bergerak di sektor industri maritim dan produksinya bersifat job order. Dalam mengoptimalkan proses produksi dan potensi sumber daya yang dimiliki maka dilakukan suatu perbaikan proses yang salah satunya adalah mereduksi waste. Fokus pengamatan pada penelitian ini pada pembangunan kapal Chemical Tanker M259 dengan batasan sampai proses pemotongan. Dalam penelitian ini diterapkan metode Lean Six Sigma dengan menggabungkan metode Lean Thinking dan Six Sigma yang bertujuan dapat mengelola proses menjadi efektif dan effisien. Dengan integrasi ini dimungkinkan dapat mengeliminasi waste yang muncul dan menurunkan variasi proses. Dari hasil penelitian waste kritis yang dijadikan fokus penelitian yaitu waste waiting dimana waste waiting ini memiliki sub waste berupa loss time pada proses persiapan fabrikasi per block shop blasting dan shop primer marking serta loss time pada proses cutting. Dari hasil RCA dan FMEA didapat usulan perbaikan yaitu membuat interval waktu yang optimum untuk preventive maintenance pada mesin Overhead Crane 5T x 27M dan mesin NC Plasma Cutting. Waktu preventive maintenance yang optimum untuk 5T x 27M Overhead Crane adalah 36 hari sekali sedangkan untuk mesin NC Plasma Cutting setiap 17 hari sekali.Usulan perbaikan yang kedua adalah pembuatan design label untuk memudahkan operator mengidentifikasi plat setelah proses shop primer


ABSTRACT

PT.PAL Indonesia is one of the famous local governmental company specialized in maritime industry sector with job order production type. To optimize the production process and main resource potencies held in their company PT.PAL work on some process improvement such as waste reduction. The main topic in this research is to analyse and reduce waste on Chemical Tanker M259 ship building with cutting process limitation. Lean Six Sigma implemented on this research with combining the Lean Thinking Method and Six Sigma to managing the process to be more effective and efficient. With this integrated method it is possible to eliminate wastes that decrease the process variation. The result from this research is the critical waste attribute from main research topic is the waiting time waste where this waste has a sub waste such as loss time on fabrication preparation process on each block shop blasting and shop primer marking and also on cutting process. Improvement suggestion gained from the result of RCA and FMEA such as creating the optimum time preventive maintenance interval on Overhead Crane 5T x 27M and NC plasma Cutting machine. The optimum preventive maintenance time for Overhead Crane 5T x 27M machine is once per 36 days and for NC plasma Cutting machine is once per 17 days. The second suggestion is to create design label for operator to make the identification of plates more easier after the shop primer process.
