ABSTRAK

Motor diesel memiliki efisiensi termal dan performance yang lebih baik serta dapat menghasilkan energi yang relatif besar. Namun pembakaran dengan prinsip compression ignition akan menyebabkan ketidakhomogenan pencampuran bahan bakar dan udara pada ruang pembakaran sehingga menghasilkan emisi yang lebih tinggi. Hal ini berbeda dengan proses pembakaran pada motor otto yang mana pencampuran bahan bakar dan udara terjadi secara homogen sebelum diberikan spark pada proses pembakaran. Untuk mengatasi kekurangan dari pembakaran diesel yang dapat menghasilkan emisi relatif tinggi maka HCCI Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition engine dapat menjadi solusi atas ketidakhomogenan pencampuran bahan bakar dan udara pada diesel. Pada tugas akhir ini telah dianalisa tentang pembakaran yang terjadi pada HCCI dengan pemodelan simulasi CFD-Fluent. Dari analisa menunjukkan performa terbaik pada variasi compression ratio 173 yaitu dengan nilai ROHR 4.732608 Jdeg.


ABSTRACT

Diesel engine has high efficiency better performance and can high power. On combustion process of diesel engine does not result homogeneous of fuel and air mixture in combustion chamber. This process is different from spark ignition engine in which homogeneous of fuel and air mixture occurs before a given spark ignition in the process. To increase homogenity of fuel and air mixture that HCCI HCCI Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition engine was developed as solution of the problem. In this research the combustion process of HCCI was analyzed by modelling simulation CFD Fluent. The result show on 173 has the best performance with 4.732608 J deg ROHR.
