THE DESIGN OF AIR-TO-FUEL RATIO CONTROLLER USING FUZZY LOGIC FOR THE BOILER AT PT INDONESIA POWER UBP SEMARANG

ABSTRAK

Boiler merupakan bagian penting dalam sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap PLTU karena boiler berfungsi sebagai penghasil uap superheated yang digunakan untuk memutar turbin pada generator sehingga menghasilkan energi listrik. Bahan dasar untuk menghasilkan uap adalah bahan bakar yang memiliki perbandingan tertentu dengan udara untuk menghasilkan pembakaran yang sempurna. Proses pemabakaran sempurna akan meningkatkan kinerja dari boiler. Fuzzy Logic Controller merupakan metode pengendalian yang dirancang berdasarkan aturan IF THEN yang berasal dari pengalaman seorang ahli atau pakar untuk diterapkan pada pengendalian perbandingan udara dan bahan bakar AFR. Fuzzy Logic Controller akan dibandingkan dengan pengendali PI Proporsional - Integral untuk mengetahui performansi pada pengendalian perbandingan udara dan bahan bakar AFR. Hasil perancangan Fuzzy Logic Controller menunjukan bahwa Fuzzy Logic controller mampu mengendalikan perbandingan udara dan bahan bakar dengan baik dan mampu mengatasi gangguan perubahan pemakaian uap serta meminimumkan pemakaian bahan bakar dengan nilai settling time 61detik peak time 30detik rise time15.5detik maximum overshoot 0.6 dan indeks kerja IAE sebesar 66.


ABSTRACT

Boiler is an important part in the generator steam PLTU because the boiler produces superheated steam that is used to rotate the turbine. Essentially a proper mixture of fuel and air will make the combustion free from losses. This complete combustion will improve the performance of the boiler. Fuzzy Logic Controller is a control method that is designed based on IF - THEN rule derived from the experience of experts. It will be applied to control air to fuel ratio AFR. Fuzzy Logic Controller will be compared with a PI Proportional - Integral Controller for the comparison of performance on the control of air to fuel ratio AFR.Results of the Fuzzy Logic Controller shows that the controller is able to control the Air to Fuel Ratio AFR better than PI and able to handle changing of steam usage and also able to minimize the use of fuell. It is based on the value of settling time 61 seconds peak time 30 seconds rise time 15.5 seconds maximum overshoot 0.6 and index of IAE 66.
