ABSTRAK

Hydroxyapatite merupakan partikel bioaktif yang banyak diaplikasikan dalam bidang biomedis seperti untuk implant tulang dan filler gigi. Untuk memenuhi spesifikasi medis tersebut maka ada beberapa parameter yang perlu dipenuhi antara lain yaitu morfologi partikel bentuk dan ukuran dan tingkat kristalinitas partikel. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan beberapa aditif antara lain yaitu urea ethylene glycol dan glukosa terhadap parameter di atas terkait dengan kondisi operasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah flame spray pyrolysis dengan peralatan yang terdiri dari ultrasonic nebulizer burner reaktor kaca particle collector dan pompa vakum. Sebagai bahan bakar digunakan gas LPG. Di samping itu digunakan udara kering dan udara bebas sebagai oxidizer dan carrier gas. Droplet yang dihasilan oleh ultrasonic nebulizer dari larutan prekursor akan dialirkan oleh carrier gas menuju flame burner. Partikel hasil reaksi akan ditangkap dengan menggunakan particle collector dan gas residu hasil reaksi akan dikondensasi dengan menggunakan kondensor. Dimana selanjutnya kondensat akan ditampung dalam water trap. Agar gas residu hasil reaksi dapat mengalir maka digunakan pompa vakum. Produk partikel hydroxyapatite kemudian akan dianalisa morfologinya bentuk dan ukuran dengan menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscope SEM sedangkan tingkat kristalitasnya dianalisa dengan X-Ray Difraction. Dari hasil analisa data diketahui bahwa penambahan aditif terbukti dapat menurunkan ukuran partikel hidroxyapatite dari semula yang berukuran submikron menjadi berukuran nanomemeter. Dan aditif urea merupakan aditif terbaik karena mampu menghasilkan ukuran partikel hydroxyapatite yang lebih kecil daripada aditif lain yaitu sebesar 52 nm dengan penambahan konsentrasi urea 20 massa.


ABSTRACT

Hydroxyapatite particle is bioactive material which is widely used for medical application such us implant bone and teeth filler. For fulfilling that medical qualification there are several of parameters that have to be fulfilled such us its morphology shape and size and its crystallinity. Due to for fulfilling that objectives this research is carried out in order to know the influence of some additives namely Urea Ethylene Glycol and Glucose toward the the parameters mentioned related with the operation condition. The method used in this experiment is flame spray pyrolysis equipped with several of instrument such us ultrasonic nebulizer burner glass reactor particles collector and vacuum pump. LPG is used as fuel. In addition dry air and free air are used as oxidizer and carrier gas. Droplet which is produced by ultrasonic nebulizer from precursor solution will be brought into flame burner. The particles produced from the flame will be catched by using particle collector. Then the residual gas will be condensed by using condensor and the condensat will be trapped in water trap. In order to flow the residual gas is used vacuum pump After that The hydroxyapatite product will be analized its morphology shape and size by using Scanning Electron microscope SEM and its crystalinity by using X-Ray Diffraction XRD. As the result of data analisys is known that the addition of additives is obviously usefull for decressing the Hydroxyapatite particles size from submicron size be nanometer size. Between the additives used in this research urea is the best ones because it can make the smallest hydroxyapatite particle size 52 nm by addition of 20 massa consentration
