Kecelakaan lalu lintas dikalangan remaja semakin meningkat, kurangnya pengetahuan menjadi pemicu terjadinya kecelakaan. Remaja merupakan pengemudi pemula yang kurang pengalaman dan pengetahuan untuk mengantisipasi segala keadaan lalu lintas yang terjadi di jalan raya. Banyaknya korban jiwa utamanya di kalangan remaja dan besarnya kerugian ekonomi dan sosial yang ditimbulkan oleh kecelakaan jalan, maka mendesak perlu dibangun budaya keselamatan jalan (road safety culture) di Indonesia, Berbagai program dan upaya sosialisasi telah dilakukan untuk mengurangi tinggi nya angka kecelakaan,salah satu upaya tersebut adalah pengenalan safety driving. Kurangnya pengetahuan remaja adalah salah satu fenomena yang mendorong penulis untuk mencoba membuat sebuah media berupa buku yang dapat memberikan pengetahuan pada remaja tentang cara berkendara yang aman dijalan raya. Penulis yang dibantu oleh pihak kepolisisan lalu lintas mencoba memberikan materi-materi tentang berkendara di jalan raya yang disesuaikan dengan remaja, sehingga mudah dimengerti dan dipahami oleh remaja. Dengan adanya perancangan ini diharapkan dapat membantu remaja untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang berkendara secara aman dan nyaman. Berkendara secara aman dan nyaman adalah salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi terjadinya kecelakaan.

Traffic accidents among juvenile has increased, the lack of knowledge becomes the trigger of the accidents. Teenage are novice drivers who are less experience and knowledge to anticipate every situation that occurs traffic on the highway. The number of major casualties among teenagers and the large social and economic losses caused by road accidents, are made the urgent needs to build the safety culture of the street (road safety culture) in Indonesia, various programs and dissemination efforts have been made to reduce its high accident rate, one of these efforts is the introduction of safety driving. Lack of knowledge among the teen are the phenomenon that encourage writers to try to make a book that can provide knowledge for teens about safe driving at highway street. The author is supported by the traffic police forces trying to providing materials about driving on the highway which is adjusted for teenagers, so it is easy to understand by teenagers. With this design it is expected to help youth to gain knowledge about driving safely and comfortably. Driving safely and comfortably is one of much effort to reduce accidents.
