DETERMINATION OF THE BEST WELDING SEQUENCE ON PIPE PENETRATING A PLATE WELDED BY USING FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

ABSTRAK

Studi tentang penentuan welding sequence terbaik pada pengelasan pipa yang menembus pelat. Studi ini dilakukan dengan cara pemodelan dengan menganalisa deformasi dan tegangan sisa berdasarkan iterasi regangan yang timbul akibat distribusi suhu yang tidak merata selama proses pengelasan dan pendinginan sampai mencapai suhu ruangan . Pemodelan yang dilakukan berdasarkan metode elemen hingga pada struktur las dalam program ANSYS 11 model 3 dimensi yang kemudian divalidasi dengan hasil pengujian struktur las yang sama. Material untuk pengujian adalah material ASTM A106 grade B untuk pipa dan A516 grade 70 untuk pelat. Pemodelan dan pengujian dilakukan dengan WPS standard PAL Indonesia. Pemodelan akan dilakukan dengan memvariasi welding sequence antara lain welding sequence menerus simetri dan loncat. Dari variasi yang dilakukan akan dipilih welding sequence terbaik yaitu variasi yang mempunyai deformasi dan tegangan sisa yang paling minimal.


ABSTRACT

A study about determination of the best welding sequence on pipe penetrating a plate welded. This study was done by modeling a deformation and residual stress analysis based on strain iterations were appear sequential by unequal temperature distribution on welding process and cold process until reach room temperature. Modeling were using finite elements method on weld structure in ANSYS 11 software 3 dimension model will be validating with the test result from same weld structure. The test material is ASTM A106 B grade for pipe and A516 70 grade for plate. The model and test were using PAL Indonesia WPS. The model will do welding sequence variations they are continuing welding sequence symmetry and jump. By that variation will decide the finest welding sequence it has a minimum deformation and residual stress.
