ANALYSIS OF EFFECT OSCILLATING PART TRANSFORMATION IN VORTEX CONVERSION ENERGY USING NUMERICAL MODEL

ABSTRAK

Konversi energi vorteks merupakan salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang ramah lingkungan dan bisa dimanfaatkan untuk mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca ke atmosfir. Para ahli berusaha untuk menekan dan mengurangi getaran yang terjadi pada sistem-sistem rekayasa. Tetapi kini sebaliknya energi yang timbul akibat adanya getaran tersebut justru diambil dan dimanfaatkan untuk diubah menjadi energi listrik. Tugas akhir ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perubahan bentuk oscillating part pada konversi energi vorteks agar amplitudo VIV Vortex Induced Vibration yang dihasilkan bisa maksimum. Selain itu juga untuk menganalisa perbandingan antara perubahan bentuk oscillating part dengan VIVACE Vortex Induced Vibration Aquatic Clean Energy Bernitsas dkk 2004. Dimensi silinder yang dianalisa berukuran panjang 914.4 mm dan diameter 127 mm. Kecepatan arus yang digunakan pada tiap model adalah 0.4 0.5 dan 0.7 ms. Nilai amplitudo yang dihasilkan pada peneltian ini sebesar 17- 350 mm pada kecepatan aliran 04-07 ms. Nilai amplitudo yang paling besar dihasilkan adalah pada model VIII dengan ratio d1d2 125 panjang 914 mm. Tetapi nilai amplitudo yang dihasilkan oleh pemodelan elips adalah lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan nilai amplitudo yang dihasilkan oleh silinder sebesar 32-375 mm pada kecapatan aliran 04-07 ms.


ABSTRACT

Vortex energy conversion represents one the new environmental friendly power source that can be exploited as an effort to lessen glasshouse gas emission from the atmosphere. Nowadays expertise and scientist tries to produce more vibration so that the effect of existence of the vibration can exactly be taken exploited and altered into an electric power. This final project purpose is to knowing the transformation effect of Oscillating Part in order to maximizing the VIVs Vortex Induced Vibration amplitude in vortex conversion energy. Furthermore this final project also analyzing the comparison among the transformation of oscillating part with VIVACE Vortex Induced Vibration Aquatic Clean Energy Bernitsas et all 2004. The dimension of Cylinder that was analyzed in this project has length 914.4 mm and diameter 127 mm. The current speed that was used in every model was 0.4 0.5 and 0.7 ms. The amplitude value in this project was equal to 17-350 mm at speed of stream 04 - 07 ms. The biggest amplitude value which was produced by VIII model with d1d2 ratio 125 and length 914 mm. In the other hand amplitude value that produced by ellipse model was smaller comparing with the amplitude that was produced by cylinder model which is equal to 32-375 mm at speed of stream 04 - 07 ms.
